I loved the look of their 80's tech because it looked goofy yet plausible. If in this movie they appear with super dumb looking sci-fi equipment im gonna flip my shit.
I think I'll just continue to plan for buying the videogame from a few years back instead of this.
The video game is pretty much Ghostbusters 3 anyway.
dats misoginy
I realize you're probably joking but that brings up a really good point. If this movie sucks, it is going to be flat out impossible to criticize it without the female protagonists being mentioned, whether they were any good or not (and so far all I know about female cast members is Cecily Strong and I don't know any of her other works). I could say it had the worst plot I'd seen from a movie outside an MST3K episode, and I'm either going to encounter dudebros "agreeing" with me and screaming "SEE PUTTING GIRLS IN A LEAD ROLE IS A BAD IDEA", or I'm going to have to put up with being called a sexist asswagon by people who lack listening comprehension skills. And if this movie flops, you just know Hollywood is going to be in the first group and we'll probably not get another all-woman lead cast for several years. So I hope this guy knows what the hell he's doing. Because if he doesn't put out a fucking blockbuster of a movie here, it's going to be hard to even talk about it.

I have never seen it. Having women in lead roles isnt an entirely new concept that just came up in these last years. There were tons of good and great movies in the past 30-40 years, and I have never heard anyone ever saying something like "This movie was great even if a woman was in the leadrole" or "Women are shit at acting, this movie is only an exception". And what about all the female oscar winners? The women wouldnt win if the general opinion on them acting would be that they are bad at it.

And the point isn't that people think women are bad at acting, the point is that very few filmmakers take the risk of making female-centric movies, especially when it comes to genres like sci-fi. How many great sci-fi films with female leads can you name off the top of your head? And what about ones with male leads? As for the Oscar thing: http://blogs.indiewire.com/womenandhollywood/the-oscars-giant-gender-gap-isnt-closing
-The 2011 Oscars recorded only 7% female winners.

-Excluding the Acting categories, for the 86th Edition of the Academy Awards nominees are 17% women and 83% men
etc
