Wouldn't be surprised if you see some new laws come into effect in the following months.
Several other countries have put forward acts revoking peoples citizenships if they fight in foreign countries. France and Australia have signed as such I believe.
We don't need a new law when one already exists:
18 U.S. Code § 959 - Enlistment in foreign service
U.S. Code › Title 18 › Part I › Chapter 45 › § 959
18 U.S. Code § 959 - Enlistment in foreign service
(a) Whoever, within the United States, enlists or enters himself, or hires or retains another to enlist or enter himself, or to go beyond the jurisdiction of the United States with intent to be enlisted or entered in the service of any foreign prince, state, colony, district, or people as a soldier or as a marine or seaman on board any vessel of war, letter of marque, or privateer, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
(b) This section shall not apply to citizens or subjects of any country engaged in war with a country with which the United States is at war, unless such citizen or subject of such foreign country shall hire or solicit a citizen of the United States to enlist or go beyond the jurisdiction of the United States with intent to enlist or enter the service of a foreign country. Enlistments under this subsection shall be under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Army.
You can be charged with treason under subsection (b).
Actually this already is a law in the US.
not really, you can be killed by presidential drone-delivered ordinance but there are stronger protections here in the U.S. regarding citizenship, its probably the one thing they can't write a law to do

Nobody said 'monsters' until you just did.
Revoke citizenship
But won't that mean that they won't be tried as citizens of the United-States? Doesn't it also open some possible legal loopholes where we could change the definition of "citizen" to make it narrower?
These people are as bad as mass-murderers but even home-grown violent psychopaths don't get their citizenship revoked. It's basically pretending that nothing in your country could have possibly contributed to their actions, ever.
No, this is a view people tend to cling to in order to sleep easier at night. Unfortunate as it is, there are plenty of people out there who are aware that what they do is ultimate bastardry and they don't care in the absolute slightest.
we call those people sociopaths.
the probability that ISIS is 100% composed of sociopaths is rather low.
you'd be surprised how capable people are of doing heinous things in the presence of authority and in the perceived interest of a common good.
and these were just under simple conditions. imagine the effects of this combined with religious fanaticism, fervent idealism, and large amounts of pent-up anger over perceived oppression.

So nobody in FP ever said or called them monsters...
nor thought they were some kind of evil shit that popped out from some lost rock in the middle of desert
Well, you must be new to FP, with time you will get to know the general opinion towards ISIS, which is: They are monsters.

it all makes sense

Yeah, I remember that in one of the first threads where their motives were debated people had some fucking problems understanding social and economic reasons. You clearly linked the argument and tl,dr briefing in bold and yet they kept circlejerking...
"Who fucking cares about if they have drinking water or not? Lets bomb them back to the stone age!"
"But wait, if you bomb them back to the stone age, you aren't solving fuck shit, because this is not just some psychos hell bent on conquering the world...ME has been since the Cold War and how foreign powers handled the region. The reason why ISIS has got so much power in the region is partly because they have been filling the gaps the US backed Iraqi gove..."
"Oh, you bore me with such analysis...Besides....look at those beheaded children, how could you say such things!"
I really want to know why they would do such a thing, whether or not they agree with ISIS' ideals. Do they feel the need to create an identity for themselves? Do they feel wronged, alienated, or even useless in their home nation?
Kill the heretics.
Burn the heretic.
Kill the mutant.
Purge the unclean.
Here in the Netherlands they're going to change the law so that people who decide to join IS, get their passports revoked.
I hope these fuckers lose their fucking citizenships and any rights to go back to any first-world countries.
They don't deserve to go back since they had the advantages of education and opportunities and still decide to join a medieval-age thinking terrorist group.

they definitely do see it as necessary for some reason or another though
if they find fun or a sense of accopmlishment in killing for no reason for example, they don't hold that life at an equal value to theirs, in their minds they aren't bastards
[editline]30th August 2014[/editline]
that isn't to say they don't deserve what's coming to them though
