You're really grasping at straws. #1 Genji is a dude
Stopped right there.
Is this sexualized?
Something is only sexualized in someones mind.
Stopped right there.
ok what do you want me to do about it that probably came off as "men can't be sexualised" but if you read my posts that isn't the case. it should've came off as "it's harder to sexualize a man's ass then a woman's ass"
ok what do you want me to do about it that probably came off as "men can't be sexualised" but if you read my posts that isn't the case. it should've came off as "it's harder to sexualize a man's ass then a woman's ass"
Listen to yourself man. You've spend the thread defending one player's opinion affecting a game because the post didn't fit the character. You've been going on and on about how it doesn't fit the character. As soon as someone posts a male character in the same pose your number one reason is "he's a dude".
dancing around 1 fake "gotcha"
What does this even MEAN???
What does this even MEAN???

Stopped right there.

your number one reason is "he's a dude".
You're simplifying the issue. Men don't have much of an ass compared to women, it's a fact and by the looks of it you're dismissing it off as something else.
You're simplifying the issue. Men don't have much of an ass compared to women, it's a fact and by the looks of it you're dismissing it off as something else.
oh, so women aren't allowed to pose in the same way as men without it being considered sexual because they have different asses alright, yeah, that makes sense
oh, so women aren't allowed to pose in the same way as men without it being considered sexual because they have different asses alright, yeah, that makes sense
omg no, read my posts jfc i give up tbh, i can't explain my issues clear enough.
You're simplifying the issue. Men don't have much of an ass compared to women, it's a fact and by the looks of it you're dismissing it off as something else.
Not really. I made it pretty clear how contradictory your argument is. You said it it yourself. This isn't an issue about sexualization of characters, it's an issue about the consistency of characters. You just dismissed it when Genji had the same pose and obviously didn't fit his character. Quit flipping your argument whenever it's convenient for you.
You're simplifying the issue. Men don't have much of an ass compared to women, it's a fact and by the looks of it you're dismissing it off as something else.
what the fuck is this logic do you think that women look at men's asses and go "well that ass isn't as good as a woman's so i don't find it very appealing" [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] i'm having a heart attack trying to comprehend this fucking line of argument
"Quit flipping your argument whenever it's convenient for you." And you're not? every remark is you simplifying what I'm saying to fit your agenda. This is what I'm trying to say: The pose doesn't fit Tracer's character because it's borderline sexualized due to her spandex outfit. The pose has no affect on Genji's character because it isn't sexualized due to the fact that he is covered in protective armor and his ass isn't as pronounced as tracer's ass (because Genji is a male and because of male hormones, male asses are less pronounced). If Genji's ass was a problem, then the developers would've removed it. They would've removed it for PR reasons if they were scared of negative pr, they would've removed it for creative reasons if they're worried about creativity. The fact of the matter is that Genji's ass is a non-issue because quite frankly no one gives a shit about his ass. I will admit that I'm fully wrong if you can get a developer saying his ass is a problem, otherwise there is no point to bringing him up. And to add, If sexualised posing was a problem, then the developers would've removed Widowmaker's pose as well but surprised they didn't because the core issue isn't about sexual poses, it's about their characters. If a man's ass is well covered, especially by heavy armor, then the man isn't being sexualised unless there are other aspects.
his "armor" is skin tight mostly conforming to the shape of a fit man aside from the calves and upper torso if anything you're looking at naked robot butte, which if you retextured it any other color it'd just be spandex [t]http://41.media.tumblr.com/142953cf0f152cc296400bea5bc622ce/tumblr_ng1aptSU341tda61ao1_400.jpg[/t] genji is literally grey fox the entire brown part of the body is basically a "sneaking suit" or rather genji's bare robot ass
If a man's ass is well covered, especially by heavy armor, then the man isn't being sexualised unless there are other aspects.
heavy armor
heavy armor
I see metallic plated armor posed blandly. If people are genuinely offended over Genji's pose violating his character, then take it up with the overwatch forums. I would gladly support the developers for sticking to character if they believe that it violates his character.
I see metallic plated armor posed blandly.
of course you do because if you admitted that you didn't, your argument would p.much fall apart
I see metallic plated armor posed blandly.
it's basically the equivalent of skin tight spandex except it happens to be metal. if tracers spandex was replaced by ass conforming metal that looks literally the same is it ok to keep the pose in?
of course you do because if you admitted that you didn't, your argument would p.much fall apart
What is this point even? "If you admitted you're wrong, then you would be wrong."
What is this point even? "If you admitted you're wrong, then you would be wrong."
i'm saying that you're going to go to absolutely hilarious lengths, doing all manner of mental gymnastics to argue that genji's pose isn't just as fucking bad, because even though it's pretty damn clear that genji's pose is showing off his ass, you won't admit it because it'd mean that you're wrong [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] see: "his ass is kinda flat" and "it's not spandex therefore it couldn't possibly show off his ass"
If people are genuinely offended over Genji's pose violating his character, then take it up with the overwatch forums
it's the same pose. same clothing. it definitely doesn't fit his character. you know why it's not gonna get changed? genji isn't a female, and you can only sexualize females. you can't sexualize a male because im a male and im not attracted to males, therefore they cant be sexualized
I see metallic plated armor posed blandly. If people are genuinely offended over Genji's pose violating his character, then take it up with the overwatch forums.

is that a fucking thong
is that a fucking thong
no its metal you dummy
i'm saying that you're going to go to absolutely hilarious lengths, doing all manner of mental gymnastics to argue that genji's pose isn't just as fucking bad, because even though it's pretty damn clear that genji's pose is showing off his ass, you won't admit it because it'd mean that you're wrong [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] see: "his ass is kinda flat" and "it's not spandex therefore it couldn't possibly show off his ass"
That sounds like a fault with communication with that last one because I don't remember ever saying that, and how are two points "mental gymnastics?" If Genji's ass was as round and as pronounced as tracer's ass then I would be on the same side as you but clearly I'm not.
That sounds like a fault with communication with that last one because I don't remember ever saying that, and how are two points "mental gymnastics?" If Genji's ass was as round and as pronounced as tracer's ass then I would be on the same side as you but clearly I'm not.
they're mental gymnastics because you're saying that the pose isn't crap because you don't think genji has a pronounced ass (when tracer is nearly completely flat as well in that pose) you've got a pose where genji is in exactly the same position, with his ass occupying even more of the frame vs tracer who is essentially flat as a board in that pose other than a line you've got tracer who is quirky, brash and athletic where her pose is slightly ill fitting you've got genji, who is meant to be a harmonious, serious, composed ninja and you've got him pulling THIS pose you're not arguing this to make a sensible point, you're arguing it because you'd be wrong if you didn't
"Quit flipping your argument whenever it's convenient for you." And you're not? every remark is you simplifying what I'm saying to fit your agenda.
Are you for real man? Quoting you word for word is simplifying? And you just did it again right here and in your next few lines.
Flip-flopping on whether the argument is whether it's about the pose being sexual, or it not fitting her character, and now I guess you've combined the two.
The fact of the matter is that Genji's ass is a non-issue because quite frankly no one gives a shit about his ass. I will admit that I'm fully wrong if you can get a developer saying his ass is a problem, otherwise there is no point to bringing him up.
No one gives a shit about Tracer's ass except one person. Someone brought up a legitimate response to this whole thing that you simply refuse because it doesn't fit your ideal counter-argument and have ignored it. Asking for that single golden piece of evidence is a smoking gun fallacy. No one will even try to refute your point because you've shown that you won't accept anything based on your responses with that Genji pose.
Yeah yeah we get it. It's not about sexualized posing it's about it not fitting their characters. So why was your first point about Genji in that pose about the pose not being sexualized when the user who posted that stated that the pose didn't fit the character, and stated nothing about it being sexual at all? It's because your argument is all over the place. For tracer it's not about sexualized posing, it's about it not fitting her character. But when it comes to Genji, suddenly you're all about sexualized posing and how it doesn't matter when applied to him because metal, armor, flat ass and whatever, when the user that posted that picture SPECIFICALLY SAID and i'll quote
If the argument of exclusion is that there is a dissonance in character then why isn't there an uproar over Genji's ass? One would say that it doesn't fit his character either, but why isn't anyone complaining about him?
I think you guys are missing what ROFLBUGER is saying. Which is "I don't find it attractive therefore, no on can for I have the final say on what is attractive."
Which leads up back to:
Maybe you don't see it as sexually attractive, but your views are far from universal standards so they don't really matter much.
Why are you people arguing about a Genji pose that doesn't even exist in-game?
Why are you people arguing about a Genji pose that doesn't even exist in-game?
because ROFLBURGER thinks that a man being in exactly the same pose isn't sexualization because his ass isn't big enough even though it's p.much an exact rig of the tracer pose this is what i meant by mental gymnastics - the pose isn't in the game and it looks like a fan-rig to approximate the tracer pose as much as possible, but apparently it isn't "sexualizing him"
