Flint is riddled with crime. It's a terrible place, and believe it or not, it's worse than Detroit in my opinion.
EDIT:
Shit, I was wrong. Flint was in the article. My bad.
My friend lives in FLint, he keeps a 10 gauge sawed off at the front door. Because they'll knock on your front door and when you answer it they bust into the back door and rob you at gun point. One time he answered the door, 10 gauge in hand and it was just some school children.

No doubt a distraction the thug forced them to be there while he sneaks to the side of the door and holds everyone up.
Quit being paranoid as fuck then. Honestly, cops aren't there to fucking rip you limb from limb if you sneeze.
you're free to ignore the news as much as you please, but don't act like you understand the world you live in when you're going through life with a fucking blindfold on.

And you're free to believe retarded statistics that have no actual basis in reality because their creation involves a massive amount of variables that were under no form of control. But don't act like you understand the world you live in when you're going through live with a mind that can't think past a simple set of graphs.
Hi guys I just wanted to come in and say that correlation=/=causation so stop

yeah OPEN YOUR EYES, SHEEPLE

In Michigan? That changes a bit. They're a bit more trigger happy to say the least due to the circumstances over there.
It's almost as if there were other reasons for people to not to do crimes than a system that would punish them for it. And as if motives for crimes might also change over time.
I dunno, something weird like morals and social or economical situation or so.
Shit, fewer cops less crime.
Sounds like a DarkRP server.
almost like authority is unnecessary
hmmmm
hah, i remember middle school.
Another article was posted by Breakyourfac that pretty much discredits the entire notion of less crime relating directly to less police officers:

Man. So when there's less people tracking the amount of crime since there's less cops, course there's going to be dropped rates if they can't fucking track it.
honestly most of Michigan is empty with sparse settlements every dozen miles or so, Detroit and its surrounding cities being the exception, I think people forget there IS more to Michigan than just Detroit . still I think there is probably way more crime than anyone is reporting there
Also if crime goes down there's less need for police officers so it's probably the opposite
Flint, Michigan just broke the record for homicides in 2012

Reported crime in Detroit may have fell 10%, but it is still 5x the national average. And I wouldn't be surprised if the statistics were manipulated to make it look like progress has been made while somehow making extreme cuts to the police force. The corruption of Michigan politics could almost rival the corruption found in Illinois.

There are far better places to live. Crime is rampant, economic recovery is pathetic, unions are fucked, Detroit just defaulted, it's cold.

Uhh let's not forget Chicago politicians, such as the dailey family which have entire books written on how the mafia got them into power and kept them in power.

I meant to say Illinois, woops. And now politicians are bought and sold by people with far greater power than the organized crime families we had years ago.
Go do some research on the Right to Work fiasco and governor Snyder, it is very intriguing and worrying. It is probably one of the grossest examples of the corporate prostitution of legislature we've seen in years; definitely the grossest in history of Michigan politics.

To summarize, Michigan is fucked and the state government wants everyone to think otherwise.

Dude right to work directly fucked me over. I was forced to work 3 weeks of 10 hour shifts at a factory. I had a broken rib and a chest infection, very painful. But because they could fire me for fucking being hurt I had to work through the pain, I didn't have enough money or time to go to the Hospital. Right to work is the biggest crooked piece of shit law I've ever seen.
[editline]27th August 2013[/editline]
Fuck working in Michigan, it's like they're trying to drive jobs out. It's statistically proven that right to work states have lower wages and longer hours, why in the fuck would they pass that shit.

I'm sorry to hear that man.
And it's because American's for Prosperity (aka the Koch brothers) funded Snyder's election and saved his ass from getting recalled by out funding the unions.
I'm so sick of Michigan Republicans, first right to work, now they're slowly trying to take away our Medical Marijuana.
Lol at people who think they need an overseeing all powerful authority babysitting them 24/7 to be safe
It's not that at all. Well, it might be for some people, but still. I realize that anarchists are a hop, skip, and a jump away from libertarians like me, but I'm going to have to side with breakyourfac and his crowd on this. Less reported crime, whatever the cause, does not necessarily mean less actual crime.
I remember reading an article about how a fountain in Metro Detroit had it's pipes disassembled and sold by thieves a couple months back, and then the city didn't have enough money in it's budget to repair it. I fucking lol'd at that. The government barely has any money anymore.
Man, what a shitty situation to be in. Granholm and Snyder have really fucked us. Well, I know Snyder has. I was too young to give a shit about what Granholm did when she was in office, so I'm not so certain about her.
Hmm... less cops to arrest people and report crime....
less reported crime....
You are on par with those people who believe that a true, perfect communism can be achieved if we ~just~ try hard enough.
people like working in smaller, close groups though.
this is why commies in usa sometimes ran factories where every worker had an equal share of the company and it worked out, the company ran more or less like normal with firings (must've been weird firing yourself) and new employees and shit but when everyone was more invested into their job they worked harder (and got more profit for their work instead of most of it going to some common boss).
