The biggest fear with a war with the DPRK wouldn't be a nuke or even the artillery on Seoul. It'd be chemical agents and sleeper cells who would gladly poison water supplies, make car-bombs, etc.
They have chemical weapons worse than mustard gas.

Lethal shit.
NK is probably so poor that they have no choice but to try and invade South Korea.

They could always dismantle that massive army of theirs. But nope, gotta fight dem imperialist pigs.

reminds me of those times in Civ 4 where I just said "ah fuck it" and invaded the nearest country to try and distract myself from the crippling economic situation
I just found out that April 10, 2013 is exactly 10 years after North Korea withdrew from the Non-Proliferation Treay.

Probably why they chose that date.
FYI South Koreans don't really care about North Korea at this point. It's only CNN or other foreign media outlets that are panicing
What? Why? Source?
If the NK aren't something we should even bother to think about then please let me know, I'd love to hear why.

no Fuck You people dying is not a bloody Joke
My friend who taught in SK confirmed that no one cared. They said that they have been under threats for for so many decades, it's worthless being scared all the time. They also think NK is a huge joke.
If this does go down, will us Brits sit back with some popcorn or are we gonna join in on the fight?

I'm sure you'd send aid to whoever was hurt. I don't see military action being brought in, unless like super serious stuff went down.
It is hard to take the leaders of North Korea seriously. If they wanted to be respected, they would completely cut the crap and admit they need help and that they welcome anyone offering a hand.
To admit that you are in a rough place and don't know what to do is much more respectable than trying to fight everyone.
This is why people congratulation members of AA and stay away from the guy in the bar trying to kick everyone's asses.

Anyone else sick of this 'Sobotnik eating hair' crap?
We get it, a guy made stupid bet on the internet, let's stop hassling on about this, I'm sure he's sick of it himself.

Yes, that's why people are getting banned for it now. This community is great at running a joke into the ground and just keep on going.
I don't get why you're getting dumbs for this. People in South Korea aren't all that concerned about North Korea.
I have a friend in Seoul, South Korea that I talk to on a nearly daily basis and I asked him about this. He really does not seem concerned at all. It's even weirder because he's currently doing his required military service, so if things go hot I imagine he could end up on the front lines the next day. It's really surreal how unconcerned he is.
But don't just take my word for it.
Separated from the North by a heavily fortified border for decades, they have for the most part lived with tough talk from Pyongyang all their lives. In annual defense drills, war alarms ring in their ears.
Foreigners unused to North Korean rumblings have canceled trips to the Korean Peninsula. But to get South Koreans' attention, Pyongyang must compete with the economy, celebrity scandals, baseball games and cherry blossoms.
At a restaurant in downtown Seoul that sells kimchi stew and fried cutlets, owner Lee Chul-je said he wasn't worried about the threats, as news about them poured from a TV in the corner.
"North Korea does this all the time," the 65-year-old said as he dropped slices of raw meat into a tenderizer. "I'm sure things will become OK again."
http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/08/travel/south-korea-tourism/
Fearing both short and long term drops in tourism, the Seoul government was seeking advice at a meeting it requested with North Korea expert Andrei Lankov, a professor at Seoul's Kookmin University.
"It's a very important question, but the problem is that the foreign media believes North Korea's threats when they should not," said Lankov, who has been studying North Korea for almost 30 years.
...
"Negative impact on South Korean tourism and the South Korean economy is exactly what North Korea wants," said Lankov, who is adamant in his belief that North Korea won't attack the South.
"[North Korean leader] Kim Jong Un is living a wonderful life that is better than any conglomerate owner's life in South Korea -- why would he want to cut that short?" said the North Korea expert.
"He is therefore the one person South Korea can truly depend on to not go to war," Lankov concluded.
Well its the 10th over there now, going by GMT here in the U.K. so let's see what happens, at the end of the day, all we can do is watch. Unfortunately history as a habit of repeating itself, if they did it before they could possibly try it again.
