PS. Battle royale was originally a manga, and has one of the most original ideas that have hit books, quit hating, just move on.
uhh
it was a book, then a movie, then a manga
and the manga was the worst version
And I suppose liking Italian movies or food makes me a guido-wannabe?
I go around calling everyone Tony and making them offers they can't refuse?

Manga is pretty shit anyways....I don't see what the big deal is about banning books, it's not like it hasn't been done in the past.
Well, there's quite a bit of negative stigma around banning/removing print material of a specific content.
It's things like this thread which cause me to detest the majority of Facepunch posters. I used to be able to convince myself that you were all joking and no one really held these opinions, but it's pretty hard to deny when there's so many posts saying completely stupid things, yet getting a ton of agrees. (In before 'Ratings don't matter', they give a good idea of the ratio of people who agree and those who disagree.) It's the same thing with furries, which you all hate to the level of complete absurdity, yet the viewpoint is supported and actually encouraged by the majority of you.
You all bash religious fanatics who support and praise their religion unquestioningly, yet you're all doing the same thing right now and you don't see it because you think "LOL if you like manga/anime you're a weeaboo and that means you're a retard" or "It doesn't matter because furries are disgusting" are actually good reasons.
It's not like there was any point in actually writing this post, because I'll just be called a weeaboo and furry for not joining in on a collective mass of stupidity and ignorance.
As above.
She did the right thing, next thing he'll be a weeaboo and look at hentai and want to go to Japan. Then he'll become a terrorist because Japan isn't a western country so they're primitive savages and they hate our freedom.
USA, USA, USA!

no thanks, learn to take a joke on an internet forum
This thread is fun.
Why are people going apeshit over this anyway? I fail to see the point in it.

Just a bunch of sheep hopping the bandwagon.
Let's ban Spiderman and Tintin too now that we're at it.
Oh, this story so kawwaiiii ^_^
But seriously, he was just looking at hentai, what's wrong with that...? Not that I do it :colbert:
Heck, Laureline is naked in one panel in Valerian et Laureline, that should definitely go first.

Its the anti anime bandwagon
:bandwagon:
So far Facepunch bandwagons have transcended boundaries I didn't know possible
First it was advocating genocide on all scene/emo kids because they didn't like them for some dumb reason
Then it was advocating murder if someone can't sing as well as their death metal bands or something, probably something even worse (though, it makes no sense because the people advocating murder probably don't sing nearly as good as the person they want dead(???))
And now it's advocating banning literature, freedom of SPEECH, as long as it bans something they don't like because there are bad/annoying sides to it.

I would have thought the Oify avatar would have already answered that question for you.

That would make it a matter of opinion, you could think that all OIFY members are idiots...or they're all trolls
Or both, either way...
OIFY, if I understand correctly, is basically a version of /b/ that's properly moderated and has at least some vestigial sense of right and wrong. Of course there would be trolling from it.
We're getting side tracked!:byodood:

Not really
I found more information about it:

I took the summaries of the manga she refrenced and here they are.
Psychic Academy Summary:
The Psychic Academy is a school for students who have "aura ability." These people can use certain elements (i.e. fire, water, earth) depending on their aura. Shiomi Ai is a new student, unsure of his ability, which has yet to reveal itself. He hopes to reunite with his childhood friend/crush Orina but once there, he meets Mew, a powerful aura user who doesn't like to talk. "Psychic Academy" follows Shiomi's relationships between Orina and Mew while he tries to figure out his place in the aura world.
Gantz Summary:
Somewhere in Tokyo, there is a room. In that room is a black sphere. Periodically, people who should otherwise have died are transferred to the room. There, the sphere gives them special suits and weapons, and sends them out on a mission to kill aliens here on Earth. While these missions take place, the rest of the world is largely oblivious to them. These missions are lethal - few participants survive them. The sphere calls the shots, and it's not the slightest bit nice. Its name... Gantz.
Those are the manga she used to get the library to stop storing manga(at the end, the library kept them). i don't know if those are the ones that made her kid "Insane" but meh
she just seems like some insane christian mother to me if that is enough to get her kid into a institution
Oh, it was Gantz. I imagine that would upset a soccer mom.
*shrugs*I'm glad I didn't play soccer then. :smug:
Why can't all moms be like this?
Why can't all moms be like this?
Because they understand the difference of cultures and let their children have rights?
Good mother.

No, no, no, no, and NO.
It's more like FYAD.
FYAD? What's that? I wouldn't know that much about OIFY, being that I've never cared to approach it, given what I've heard of it. All I know about OIFY is that it's a bit... marginal?
it's an SA subfourm
dummy

uhh no
it's just a chill place where people think they can shitpost and spam, but they cant
Well this thread brings the typical facepunch air - bandwagons, trolls and a fuckload of butthurt people fighting them.
Sending him to a hospital for reading a book? Fuck off woman, you're the crazy one here.
it's an SA subfourm(sic)
I've never been to SA. Why would I want to? They are the bunch that spawned 4chan after all. Which in turn spawned ED. Not to mention a whole list of other offences of a similar nature. The only good thing that's come out of them that I know of was some lets-plays, including the legendary Let's Play: X-COM.
I was under the impression that OIFY was the random section. Thank for setting me straight about it's culture.
