Got some stats to prove that "this happens all the time" because in the real world it doesnt. It looks like it because its news. Yea, there are bad apples. In every profession.
Nixon was trusted with the Nation and he committed crimes, lied to the constituents and was on the verge of impeachment.
Pilots are trusted with 100's of lives in a tin can flying 100+ mph in air... and they fuck up too.
The military has values that everyone swears by yet some still kill civilians and piss on dead bodies... they fuck up too.
You trust doctors with your life and even then they fuck up sometimes.
You trust judges to uphold the law and treat everyone equally but yet some dont. They fuck up.
You trust politicians to be honest people and yet they take bribes and have scandals. Wow, look at that, they too fuck up.
Just because you read bad shit in the news all the time about a profession doesnt mean that everyone in it is a terrible tyrannical gun shooting power-tripping asshole thats out to get you. How many times do you see the news story of an officer saving someones life? Going beyond whats asked? Jumping into waters while everyone watches? reaching into an engulfed car fire to free a passenger stuck?
You dont.
You dont because thats the way they're expected to be: super-human.
You're forgetting that everyone is human and that everyone makes mistakes. If you say you're a perfect person and never make a mistake then you're lying to us and yourself.
I know thats what people think because I get asked all the time at work about american police. They come here expecting some hardass people who obviously dont understand what they're going through and will kill them at first sight.. but instead they're met with normal people who want to help them solve their issue at hand in the easiest way possible.
So you, and everyone else, can fuck off with this "all american police are violent" bullshit. Its not true and its a disgrace to everyone working in the field to be classified with these pathetic excuses of an officer.
Naive concept.
Everybody on that list that fucks up pays a price. Medical malpractice suits, impeachment, dishonorable discharge, or just straight up getting fired.
Killing somebody isn't something that saying sorry we won't do it again can fix. That being said I also don't support vengeance for punishment, but if the law says you will pay a price for committing a certain act, it's supposed to stop you.
But in this particular instance why the fuck did they have to bash his head in? Why? Why did they even need to cuff him? They never attempted to arrest him. They threatened him and then attacked him when he acted defensively. Code of conduct my ass, that entire department should be sued for it's code of conduct not preventing this from happening.
The only objection the Fullerton Police Department had with the behavior of their officers was their use of profanity.
so usa
so usa
I would have thought that'd be more British.
"When one is beating the lower class to death, one should use the appropriate language as befits a gentleman."
I put my self in their shoes. I know that they feel regret for what they did. That means they didn't do it on purpose. But they still knew it was wrong.
It's their duty to uphold the law.
The US has trouble with this whole "rule of law" thing. Not as bad as Russia or any People's Republic but they could be doing much better.
I really hope these cops names become commonplace because of the internet and media. Maybe society can punish them by ostracizing them.
right but that's the point. unfortunately to protect the shooter case, the ability for power enabled fucktards to do this is there. it's basically impossible to remove the ability to do this case without removing their protection on the shooter shooting people case
Yeah, true. I see your point. I guess we'll always have those really shitty cases, which sucks immensely.
Seriously 3 of those fatties couldn't handle that frail body man ? So much wrong done there. Smashing face to hell ? What were these guys smoking ?
I don't blame the officers, just the first one who was being a right proper cunt at the start. The other officers only see the guy get up and get confrontational then try and take off, and the guy was resisting the entire fucking time so of course he was going to get roughed up. It does take a lot of officers and effort to get handcuffs on a guy resisting
Personally I would find all the officers not guilty except for the one that was putting on gloves at the start, he was the one at fault, and it instigated the entire incident
You are a massive idiot and I hope you're never in a position of power.
Do you even think before you speak?
How the fuck can you not resist whilst you've got three fat dudes pounding on your face? As the video above shows, they beat him so hard they broke numerous bones.
[...]
This is sadly a very common problem when you put power into the hands of a small segment of people and expect all of them to follow the ideals of proper discharge of duty. Some of them are just unthinking thugs who simply crave the power that comes with being a cop.
Too bad we can't read minds yet to ensure that only the right people can get the right positions.
Psychological profiles are a thing.
Also, should cops be subjected to being tased/hit-with-a-baton to know what force they're delivering? I know the military uses this tactic with pepper spray to hammer in this fact.

I can't believe the police involved in this still think they were right in doing what they did.
You were beating a restrained man with the butt of a Tazer you fucking idiot.
I know someone's inevitably going to say "it's a few bad apples". Don't. It's not. This happens all the time, when it should never happen. When you're put in a position to protect the community and are given a weapon and the license to use deadly force, there should be no exceptions, no leeway, no pardons.
The police has to uphold a standard for the rest of the community. There can't be any "bad apples".
Mind showing us these numbers

And then he suffocated on his own blood.

Exactly - what judge in their right mind wouldn't instantly rule this as straight up murder?

going through the thread and reading this
even a cursory glance at that article would show to you that this is in no way comparable
13 people rating zing who also very clearly didn't read the wikipedia page

Psychological profiles can't classify or identify everything.
I should know because I've studied them in detail as part of my education.

Authoritarianism is strong in the US. Especially on the political right.
It can happen anywhere; it's just become more rampant in U.S reporting
It doesn't happen everywhere, really. But cops in the USA are about as professional as cops in Afghanistan or some other Middle-Eastern shithole.
Mind showing us these numbers
everytime i go out my door I see a swarm of evil cops beating down people along the sidewalk
it's kinda like that smoke monster from lost

The case with the US is the culture. Poor people are lazy and inferior so they should be treated as such is the prevailing attitude.
