Good.
do you have a passport to burma i think youve been using it too much
I would kill to have a Rmoney shirt with a portrait of mittens with blingee shit all over him.
i'm not saying the girl should've been kicked out at all, the teacher was dumb for that. but i mean, wearing a romney shirt she needed to expect something to happen, especially when you're supporting one of the worst candidates probably in u.s. history
sure, she deserves to have her peers tell her why romney is an awful candidate and that democracy doesnt work etc but she was removed from her education because of a t-shirt. i can imagine if it was a democrat meeting in school or something i dunno, but when the context of her environment is entirely irrelevant to her shirt, the latter should not imply any consequences.
Kicking people out for their political siding. Sieg Heil.

yeah bro screw free speech

do you have a passport to burma
What the fuck. I didn't say that because of the Romney/Ryan thing on the shirt. I thought it was good because do you see that color? Pink? How garish!
she needed to expect something to happen
What? What should she expect to happen? It's her opinion, she's stating it, what's so fucking wrong? You'd be the first to say "They deserved to be raped because of the clothes they wore"
That's shit Any American who thinks that this is a good thing should be ashamed of themselves It completely goes against the basic foundations of our country
being gay is wrong, racism is right, women are second class citizens white power
Stop it. Your a fucking hypocrite no matter what. Good thing i dont even care about politics. Its one big shitstorm and has been since it was invented by greek people. Ironically, Democracy caused the collapse of its own craddle. lol

Teacher was dumb to kick her out, but man it's really easy for me to sympathise with her.
How can anyone dislike the name of a person with such stunning hair? It baffles me.
Teacher was dumb to kick her out, but man it's really easy for me to sympathise with her.
I don't sympathize with her at all If this happened to an Obama supporter everyone here would be up in arms Dems like to view themselves as champions of civil liberties, but it's clear that the teacher just blindly parades around her political party like it's some kind of damn badge I'm a liberal and she pisses me off, even more so since she's supposedly on "my side"
I don't sympathize with her at all If this happened to an Obama supporter everyone here would be up in arms
we're 'up in arms' and she's a romney supporter
Forcing your agendas on everyone else is not cool. Respect others' opinions, no matter how fucked up they may be.
There's plenty of opinions I'll never respect, but I will respect people's right to have them.
we're 'up in arms' and she's a romney supporter
Even if most of the posts in the thread support her, you can see that a good portion doesn't by looking at the ratings If she was left then there would be a massive shitstorm of rage against the teacher, but since she isn't then it's easy to just blow this off
Good. Politics have no place in the classroom* and I'm on board with not allowing staff or students to wear political shirts, buttons, or any such nonsense. They had best extend it to Obama shirts out of fairness, though. *One exception: Political classrooms. For obvious reasons.

users entitled to think the teacher is right, rated dumb because it infringes on the rights of the student. Hypocrites
users entitled to think the teacher is right, rated dumb because it infringes on the rights of the student. Hypocrites
What are you going on about?
"trollen all along dude LOL"
I wasn't trolling, it was just a really bad joke/attempt at satire. I debated putting a :v: in there or something but ultimately left it which was probably a bad idea since some people do think its seriously okay for a teacher to do these kinds of things. Sorry. Kids at my school wore political shirts all the time and no one cared.

ban shirts [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] pun not intended
Why not? Kids at my school wore political shirts all the time and no one cared.
Two reasons. One: American politics are a joke anyway. You're basically asking some old men to decide which color of turd you want in the White House for the next for years. Secondly: School is not the place for politics. What kids do outside of school is on them, but in school they're supposed to be learning things. The LAST thing we need is to encourage even more childish bickering by allowing them to wear the names of adults that make a very lucrative career out of childish bickering. I would flat out ban political shirts, stickers, pins and other related nonsense if I were a principle. School just isn't the place for that stuff. I don't care who's side of the spectrum you're on.
Thats going to be an awfully hard position to take when you have politics-econ classes in most high schools.

Romney is a piece of shit. But we all have opinions. Kicking the student out was just plain wrong.
