Tons of new maps, game modes, weapons, updates, everything. It's been free since release. See how happy the TF2 community is?
Actually L4D1's pre order price was $45 And take a look at Team Fortress 2. Tons of new maps, game modes, weapons, updates, everything. It's been free since release. See how happy the TF2 community is?
It was $40 for me, euro to dollar conversion + the discount = $40. Anyways, TF2. That's the problem with the people who want L4D2 to be free, they think of TF2 and think "oh it should be free." Lets see what you got so far with TF2: - Some new maps, some of which were community maps. - Some new gamemodes. - Medic (3 weapons + achievements), Pyro (3 weapons + achievements), Sniper (3 weapons + achievements), Spy (3 weapons + achievements), Heavy (3 weapons + achievements), Scout (3 weapons + achievements) and "Engineer" (Level 2 & 3 Dispensers and Teleporters) updates. Making a total of 22 new weapons and a lot of achievements. - New voicelines for each class updated, and some new taunts/death animations. - Some purely decorative hats and weapon levels. All of this was spread over months, the cost of developing these updates was way less because of the time frame they were given. Besides that, achievements are hardly the most costly/difficult thing to do in the game developing world and 22 new models + animations and the programming required for the new weapons was nothing compared to what is necessary to develop a new different game, sum everything new we got for TF2 up and compare it to the original content of TF2, you'll see that if you do the same for L4D2 comparing it with L4D1, the TF2 updates won't even come close to the amount of new stuff from L4D1 to L4D2. Sure, they could give it to us for free and take 5 years to give it all to us, or they could take 1 year to develop and sell it, and then keep updating both games with new and different content (which is what they have planned). I'd rather pay $40/$50 now and get all of that content than to wait 5 years to get it for free.
I'd rather wait. They could have but they'd make you pay for it. (and you wouldn't be happy)

We did get 1 new map/gamemode, but its not a whole new campaign.

Super serious about that.
L4D2's is way too blue and you can see the top of it. Cheap.
You're seriously nitpicking on the lightning's color? Really?
You're seriously nitpicking on the lightning's color? Really?
If you're going to make a game make it right.
Agreed with Jimmy. These aren't the kind of pictures I would use to promote my game.
Are the zombies reacting oddly to the rain or just getting shot ? o.0 [editline]01:56AM[/editline]
Yeah. Imagine if all the TF2 content was paid for. That would be fucking horrible. Probably ruin the game. Super serious about that.
You don't understand how big L4D2 is, don't you.
If you're going to make a game make it right.
I would like to see you do any better. Hey cool, 1,000th post.
And you can't see the top of the lightning. It's coming through the cloud, hence the little hole-like appearance in the cloud.
Can't wait. Nuff' said.
"Swamp Fever"? Is it just me who is disappointed with such a bland name for a campaign?
Hm. Perhaps the new campaign might be the fabled swamp campaign?
It should be free for everyone who bought L4D, or there should be some kind of discount.
I would be SHOCKED if Valve didn't offer a discount for original L4D owners who bought it before L4D 2 is released.
Hey guys the game is still in development so stop crying.
Awesome. Also I don't get the point of the boycott. They didn't boycott the Half-Life 2 episodes so why are they boycotting this? Bunch of idiots, if you ask me.
I would be SHOCKED if Valve didn't offer a discount for original L4D owners who bought it before L4D 2 is released.
I would be shocked if they did. When has Valve ever given a discount like that? There's not even any pricing details.
L4D2's is way too blue and you can see the top of it. Cheap.
You probably won't even see the lightning because it happens to fast to see.
Hey guys the game is still in development so stop crying.
Pretty much this.
im not buying this game because of the bad lightning strike
im not buying this game because of the bad lightning strike
I need to recallibrate my sarcasm detector. Are you serious?
I can't wait... looks very exciting I just hope that they will have the sdk released right away... Though you will be able to use the old sdk until they release the new one... I am very excited... and to the boycotters: You didn't bitch when the episodes for hl2 were released. They barely had as many changes as l4d2 does, and not to much they never "updated" hl2. So stop whining, and realize, a lot of game companies make promises they don't keep yet you still buy most of their half-assed games. Though Valve is going to keep their promise and they aren't going to release some half-assed game. Really you guys have been spoiled way too much with tf2.
They should really end a campaign with an anti-climax. Like you get aboard a plane, take off, and discover the pilot has been bitten and mid-way through flight starts to change. If I ever decide to make a custom campaign I'll probably do that
L4D2's is way too blue and you can see the top of it. Cheap.
Do you even know how long lighting's are visible. It probably looks great once you get to play it
You guys know that people aren't boycotting it because of how soon it's coming out, but rather how they lied about the free content that was going to be released. See the youtube video Lies 4 $$$$ to see what I'm talking about.
They're still working on said DLC, so please direct your bullshit elsewhere. You obviously haven't been keeping track of the news with L4D1. They plan on announcing their next update for L4D1 soon.
