We're getting a stem cell based scientist to teach us for a term in a week.
As a type 1 diabetic I really hope this doesn't get tossed aside like all the other medical miracles, I really want to be able to do the things I've dreamed of doing as a child.
My German teacher in 9th grade once said that in some European countries stem cell research and other things along those lines were not nearly considered so horrid and bad. And they were actually allowed to work with them, but I don't know how true this is. I just think it's dumb to not research this, because you don't know what all it can do.
Jup, true, because most countries here have a segregation of church and state

The other "medical miracles" never get tossed aside, you just stop hearing about them because the media completely overhypes them when they first report and then runs out of things to say as the treatment continues to be developed.

They ate too much cheese
Why is it even considered imoral?
I've never really followed it, why is it so forbidden? It seems like it might help us in alot of stuff.
I think it has something to do with the common misconception that stem cells only come from dead foetuses.

Probably because at some point they said that one of the sources you could get stem cells from had the word 'fetus' in it and everyone freaked out. Now, even though there are MANY other ways to get stem cells, everyone still thinks of it as that horrible science that comes from abortions or something.
This would be awesome because then I can give my dad candy again
