Way to read too far into that.
"The people who really suffered from those injustices are long gone, people like you are just leeches looking to garner a quick buck off of the suffering of your ancestors."
This stuff didn't end centuries ago. Things such as forced eugenics, Roosevelt taking more land away, Children being taken away and forced into adoption in the 50's, and things that persist even today.
"Indian reservations"
Because that was really done with people's best interest at heart and didn't result in any hardship and death at all.
"oh, really"
Did I say "all"?
"They can already get into most universities for free. Fun fact."
I wish.
Yeah, it's about much more recent abuses. I remember hearing about this when I was taking native american lit, and it's legit. Also, native american literature....is seriously fucked up. Just fyi, but some of it is so in a good brutally honest sort of way.

exactly, and people fail to take into account that the decimation of their race and the destruction of their social structures and the subsequent forcing into 'reservations' which practically became ghettos is the direct cause of the many social issues faced by native americans today (such as poverty and drug abuse)
good.
I "lived" (read: kidnapped) on a Sioux Indian reservation in South Dakota for a couple of months when I was younger. The living conditions are abysmal. Entire families are packed into tiny little one- and two-bedroom houses, which often have very limited access to basic utilities. I don't think a thousand bucks a head will do much to alleviate the issues the Native Americans face in poverty, but I'm sure they aren't complaining about the extra cash. It's just a shame that most Americans don't realize that we have third-world quality of life right here on our own doorstep!

I'm trying not to sound ~entitled~ by the way and sorry if I do. There are plenty of other minorities who have had it just as bad and sometimes worse than Native Americans. It's just hard to stay neutral sounding when people belive all the injustices ended hundreds of years ago and don't realise that there are things that are still being done to this day.
Well

It's something at least.
All we did was say sorry.
