Fluro colors and white everywhere. I know my girlfriend will like the look of it, but to me it's feminine as fuck.
I've been looking at new phones, and I think I'll be waiting it out for the new iPhone than getting an Android phone, iOS 7 looks fantastic. I think the reason is because I want an iPhone is purely for functionality. I want to use my phone, not end up muddling with UIs, finding pretty icon sets, or flashing new ROMs to see what works best. The most personalization I want is to change my background to a cool sunset photo I took. Car analogy. If you offered me a choice between two sports cars, a Porsche Cayman S, or a Subaru BRZ and 50 grand to spend on parts, tuning it and making it faster, I'd just pick the Porsche. It just works.
That's what I did once my Galaxy Nexus had a bit of an accident right before a trip to NYC. I had a phone upgrade so I got an iPhone 5. Of course I loved the openness of Android but I'm on a Verizon family plan and Google didn't release the Nexus 4 on that carrier, and the GNex line of phones are the only Androids I'd enjoy owning long term. I'm pretty happy with the switch. I already owned a lot of things on iTunes so getting the iPhone made the most sense, but I still enjoyed Android while I used it. IMO the iPhone is a bit nicer experience from the get-go like you said about it just working. The apps are more uniform so you don't end up with odd apps with weird UI's like on some Android apps too.
This looks fucking HORRIBLE
I thought only iPhone 4 and above would get the update, you may be safe.
My device is still prompting me to get an update and has done so since that one version of the iOs with the shitty maps application was released.
My device is still prompting me to get an update and has done so since that one version of the iOs with the shitty maps application was released.
Yeah, but that won't be the case with iOS 7. I'll probably stick to iOS6 like I stuck to iOS5 before the jailbreak came. iOS6 jailbroken is actually fantastic. Don't like Apple Maps? Hide the icon and set the default Maps app to Google Maps. Don't like Safari? Use Chrome, and give it the same speed boost that Apple locked to Safari. Task switcher too simple? Use Auxo for a brightness slider, better music controls, and toggle switches. Want even easier toggle switches? Get SBSettings or (preferably) NCSettings to easily switch shit in your Notification Center. Dislike icons? Theme them! Dislike how any app looks? Theme it! Tired of the boring homescreen with nothing but time and unlock? Toss in Atom to get the Android circle app start thing posted a page ago. Toss in some other packages and you'll have a notification center homescreen with a weather and forecast widget plus time on the top instead of just time. Want to change the text style? Okay. Want to fit five columns? Five rows? Six rows? Feel free. Sick of the Verizon/AT&T logo wasting space on your top bar thing? Gone. Want a more accurate cell signal bar? Done. Want to disable certain animations? Done. Unlimited scrolling homescreen? Unlimited folders? Unlimited dock? Easy. Free tethering? Okay. Pictures in messages and contacts? Tadah. Date in the top bar? Shazam. File browsing? F.lux? Passwording apps? There's absolutely nothing it doesn't do. I don't know why anyone wouldn't jailbreak their phone. I have no stability issues at all and the thing is ten times easier to use and nicer to look at. I can barely use my phone without having it jailbroken, because I've got to go all the way to settings just to change my brightness. The settings bar is a step in the right direction, but I wouldn't use it because it's just so damn ugly.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/YHyrALh.png[/t] This looks shit.
Hopefully they reform mission control, maybe some indicators or guides also i hope with the iPad they integrated notification center with mission control so its unified and doesn't look out of place.. Considering the iPad doesn't utilize the whole screen for notification center [editline]11th June 2013[/editline] or some backdrop colour

You'll have to deal with this until iOS 8 at minimum
No luck trying to install iOS7 on an iPhone 4 thus far. Thankfully, TinyUmbrella can boot your phone again with its "Exit Recovery" feature. *Edit: Works now. Huh, I didn't know that the new Compass app has a spirit level and altimeter built in. That's actually pretty cool.
Apple wouldn't go back on their design decisions unless they accidentally slipped in a swastika or something. You'll have to deal with this until iOS 8 at minimum
It's only one little annoyance but I'm sure people will grow into it
why does no one care that the icons look like they were made by a 9 year old in adobe flash in their first animation seriously what the fuck, design trends
I don't mind most of the icons. The ones with the white backgrounds look hideous though, the worst offenders being photos and game center.
Anyone in the beta care to show what the Control Center looks like pulled up with the good ol' grass wallpaper set to the homescreen? If it's going to be blaringly grey over top of green I'm going to be annoyed. I really like that background and want to keep using it. The one thing I hate the most about the inconsistent icons is the Photos icon. Not a huge fan of it, I mean a sunflower really didn't look great, but I like it's representation of macro photography. Also, speaking that grass wallpaper, I'd really like to see them do a dynamic wallpaper similiar to the setup I've created through LivePapers:
Yeah, but that won't be the case with iOS 7.
Oh, it's not for my iPod, which is a 8GB 4th gen.
Oh, it's not for my iPod, which is a 8GB 4th gen.
That thing can barely handle iOS6 anyway
So much inspiration. (User was banned for this post ("Off topic" - Autumn))
I like how they proudly show off the weather app on the website as another one of the amazing things iOS7 is capable of.
I like how they proudly show off the weather app on the website as another one of the amazing things iOS7 is capable of.
I know. Android has done this shit for years.
Same here. I'm really looking forward to the update! This forum is really biased against Apple. I'm sure you can find things that are a bit like another device. I'm sure your android can do the same thing if you install a specific ROM and then install a specific theme. But I'm also sure that if it wasn't for the iPhone we would all still be using these.
lol no the iPhone helped UI wise, the first true smartphone was the N95 which had functions that weren't present in the iPhone all the way up to the iPhone 4
Also
I'm glad they fixed the maps icon. The "driving off of a bridge" one was stupid. [T]https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-tMRzsqsUeGI/UFvCqPrqxII/AAAAAAAAQHI/Sz7xrB7zYq8/w800-h800/iphone_maps_icon_ios6.png[/T] [editline]11th June 2013[/editline]
I like how they proudly show off the weather app on the website as another one of the amazing things iOS7 is capable of.
Apple's website does that for every minor feature. The OS X features page has "Keyboard shortcut for Save As" listed as one of its "over 200 new features" (which also includes things like Safari remembering passwords, which I don't think was even new to it).
Personally, I think it looks like shit. Especially this: What in the fuck is that? Yuck.
I just get this feeling.
Those icons are atrocious IMO. It's OK looking all together but still looks like a fishers price toy had sex with Metro and Android's daughter.
i've never really been a fan of skeuomorphism, and i applaud apple for trying to make a move to flat design, but this just looks terrible imo. it looks like some stupid "concept" shit you might see on deviantart or something.
It looks more simple and too colorful Are apple still trying to aim for the stupid market even more now?
There is one thing about this that is killing me. Is the parallax effect they mentioned simply the act of having the background move with (but slower than) your applications when you scroll to the side? If it's like anything in the reveal video, they must be using the gyrometer to simulate the effect.
I just get this feeling.
It's like I'm 12 again.
The fuck is a gyrometer and does it taste good?
That would be a gyroscope, mixed with an accelerometer. (typo)
