That fallacy only applies if his argument is in the middle BECAUSE it's in the middle. If he legitimately wants to argue that both are pricks, then that's a legitimate argument.

It's an opinion that can be backed up with over a decade of pointless attacks on each other that hasn't made life better for either side.

It's an opinion that many people hold and it's an opinion that amounts to nothing
No changes or added conditions in american funding of Israel, no changes in the possibility of a direct UN military intervention, no financial sanctions against the only side that *can* be institutionally sanctioned, etc because nobody wants to take a side because they "hate them both."

I don't wanna take a side because they're both doing horrible things. I can't even tell which one is lesser evil.
