The Archie Mega Man comics did a much better job than any adaptation of mega man I've seen (That's official).
There were some off bits, like essentially taking so long to get to Mega Man 3 that the comic anti-climatically paused mid-Protoman unmasking to toss the story into the Sonic crossovers. But all things considered, you could tell Flynn and everyone who worked on the Mega Man Archie Comics really cared for the series.
The new animated Mega Man series will follow Aki Light – a normal, upbeat, and above all optimistic young school-aged robot living in Silicon City. He soon learns that deep within his programming are secret protocols that allow him to transform – giving him nanocore armor, a Mega Buster, and the iconic helmet to turn him into a superhero – Mega Man! Promising exciting new technologies and new robots, the series will follow the adventures and trials of Aki Light – a.k.a. Mega Man – as he faces off against threats to Silicon City, while trying to keep his superhero identity a secret and maintain a normal robot schoolkid life.
[editline]26th May 2016[/editline] THERE'S A NEW CHARACTER THAT'S LEGIT A FUCKIN TINY ROBOT COMING OUT OF HIS HEAD.
as well as the introduction of Mega Man’s alter-ego, Aki Light, a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot.
The fuck happened to good ol' "Rock"?

Aki Light seriously sounds like some trash a fourteen-year-old furry/weeb would come up with, very donut steele-esque
looks like a bootleg you'd see on kid's backpacks you can buy in china

I heard Aki's a girls name. Also it can translate into bright, so his name could be Bright Light. Backwards it's Light Bright and he lights up now, I wonder if some fuckwit over there decided that was a funny joke and took it too far. [editline]26th May 2016[/editline] Somebody on /v/ I think redrew the design into something not shitty [T]https://my.mixtape.moe/ftaboq.png[/t] We could've had this instead
Why can't they just make him look like megaman
I heard Aki's a girls name. Also it can translate into bright, so his name could be Bright Light.
I believe it also translates to "nothing" or "empty". Because it's target audience is little children and "their parents who grew up loving the videogames", it seems like it's going to be one of those meme filled "it's really for adults!!1" type shows. What next? Resident Evil done like Sesame Street? ..........I am conflicted on how THAT would be.
You know, the sad thing is that a cartoon actually accurate to the games nearly happened. And it was the Ruby-Spears cartoon. But focus test demographics didn't like the anime style in the sales pitch, so they made everyone look like traditional western cartoon designs, leading to the infamous Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon. Now here we are twenty-two years later, and we have what seems like will be more anime-esque designs (probably), but now the series-traditional content's being completely altered to fit today's most generic 'superhero kid action/comedy cartoon' archetype with new characters fitted in for marketing. It's like this franchise is cursed.
It looks like one of those shit knockoff characters you'd see on an action replay box
