Nazis tried to train dogs to talk, read and spell to win WW2

lol. If the nazis won the war we might've had talking dogs. :downs:
[sp]But seriously, what the hell[/sp]
If it wasn't for the whole killing-all-the-Jews-and-enslaving-Europe thing, Nazis would have been pretty cool.

They where pretty cool. Not the nazis from now.
where

As cool as that is, those images look very doctored.
If I remember correctly, only the first 2 are genuine, the others are photoshops or props. There was an interesting discussion on /x/ over them.
I wonder if there's an alternate universe where the Nazi's won and we're all actually living a futuristic peaceful lifestyle (except the jews).
But then that means there's also a universe where Germany were the good guys and the rest of the world were Nazis.
I don't what to believe anymore..
No morality in science like this reminds me of Rapture. Why are people so anal retentive when it comes to science? Stem cells could save lives and they're only using waste anyways.
The one word the dogs would have learnt if they did get them to speak

BONE!!!!!!
I wonder if one guy came up with all of the nazi ideas [talking... dogs, [other experiments]]
Whats that lassie? A jew is hiding in a well?
Didn't they also kill dogs to make the soldiers more hardened?
have some graphic pictures of twats chewing on dead bunnies and dogs to prove that, yes, the nazis probably did kill puppies as people are still doing it today:
It just goes to show that, when it comes to Science, it really is crippled by morality. I mean, not to say that having morals is a bad thing, but it definitely limits what we can or can't do. I mean, look at how badly something as harmless as Stem Cell Research has been limited because of people not being too keen on the whole thing.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I 110% agree with this.

And how does that work? Wouldn't it be best if they do that with human flesh, instead of animals? That's pretty fucking stupid

IMHO the only way to harden soldiers would be to remove almost all traces of humanity in them, forcing them to think pretty much like serial killers...
Oh yeah? Russians tried to make a mech-fighting dog.

You ought to check out the movie "Fatherland"...
Fictional account of what might have happend if Hitler had won the war. It is now the 1960s and Germany's war crimes have so far been kept a secret. Hitler wants to talk peace with the US president. An American journalist and a German homicide cop stumble into a plot to destroy all evidence of the genocide.
The Nazis tried so many terrible projects towards the end.
Not going to lie, I'm fascinated with all the stuff the Nazis could pull off, that they wouldn't be able to under any normal situation. It's terrible, but interesting.
I'm actually Polish
This sounds absolutely insane, which goes along with the Nazis being crazy. Also kind of awesome, although I feel their scientists were greatly overestimating the mental capacity of a Canine.
As for those pics of Soviet Cyber-Dog... I've seen them before and heard that the book scans are real while all the photos are fake. Since I've never had a good eye for those things I can't really say for sure.

"Terrible" is relative... like evlbzltyr said before, science is and always will be crippled by a) morality and most importantly b) religions.
Whatever you and I consider "terrible", I'm sure Dr. Mengele would have thought "OMFG WHY THE HELL NOT?! :q:"
All I know is that they were definitely ahead of the curve and they forced the rest of the world to play catch-up with them, which was one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) priorities all countries had in common and shared, in order to have a chance of winning the war.

Same here... I actually like how they pretty much said "Whateva whateva, I do what I want" and started developing all this crazy shit that nowadays we take for granted.
Funny that they said blacks were animals and should not be taught to read. Hypocrites.

The nazis succeeded

All those talking dogs on youtube are obviously the offpsring of the nazi dogs.

I think you missed the point.
Didn't Russians teach dogs how to run under tanks. Then put AT Mines on the dogs with a stick detonator that would activate the mine once it hit the bottom of the tank they ran under?
Then scrapped the idea because the dogs would run under their own tanks as well
Germans were nuts, but inventive. Much of the technology we make practical usage out of today is based off of Nazi and WWI-German technology. In large part, it's because the Nazis were nuts enough to step outside the box and try to achieve the stuff everyone else saw as crazy. Sure they had lots of failures- psychic bonds between twins, talking dogs, orbital artillery, laser mirrors- but they had so many successes out of it, from engineering vehicular marvels we use as basics today, to architectural advances for bunkers that the developed world makes use of in its large constructions, to air-pressure findings, medical and drug advances, etc etc.
They were nuts. They made the first helicopter and were the only nation to actively be pursuing supersonic, jet, and helicopter aircraft. Synthetic blood? Yes. Methanphetamines, aspirin and modifications, pain killers in general? Yes. Digital computers? First ones to start research. They probably had atomic research months, if not years, ahead of the allies, and very likely even had enriched Uranium-235 on a U-boat aptly numbered U-234 ready to be converted into a working atomic bomb within a month. They experimented with electromagnetic artillery, basically railguns, and using sound an X-rays to disable infantry and cook tanks. The guys were geniuses. It's a damn shame they were fascists and the whole world-war thing had to come about, because had the Germans survived the war and continued research, we might be living a completely different world, with god-knows-what kind of crazy shit.
It does not surprise me they did this dog thing. It would not surprise me if they really did get some to speak like they claim.
Had not Hitler decided to become the head of the army and gone nuts after the assasination attempt, we would definitely live in a erde woher deutch jargon ist primär jargon. Oh scheisse.
Anyway, even if he had decided to retreat his forces instead of pushing them to attack (and many other such similiar suicide missions), the german forces would have prolonged the loss of France all the way to the year 1946. That's just how well the Wehrmacht could fight.
And to be honest, I would love to see the world in which the Germany had win the World War 2 just for the technological advances.

I read that book and it's bloody brilliant, I suggest everyone to read it.
They need a nazi game with dogs that can talk and read..
If you think German are the only nutcases, think again. The Americans also had quite a few weird animal experiments. Most notably PROJECT X-RAY, also called the Bat Bomb. A weird, yet awesome weapon.
It was a large wooden hive shaped like a bomb, filled to the brim with bats, each wearing it's own little suicide terrorist napalm jacket. The hive would be dropped above an enemy city on a parachute, the bats would all flee the hive and seek refuge under the roofs and other hard to reach places in the enemy city. After a predetermined time, all the jackets would explode, and the city would burn down.
The only reason the project got cancelled was because development was too slow, and the atomic bomb looked more promising as a weapon to quickly end the war.
Speaking of. When in the bible does it say to not use some part of a human embryo for advanced medical science?
When was the last time you heard a religious man protest against anything without making it up on the spot or basing it on out-of-context writings? Last person to use a religious text to make a proper point was Martin Luther in 1517 when he utterly crushed people who made shit up to control others actions (A.K.A. the Vatican).
