If I couldn't have my steaks rare-blue and my chicken juicy and moist I wouldn't want to live anymore....
Playing devil's avocado here, but you're not looking at the real source. Humans aren't designed to eat meat, eg look at our teeth structure and why we have to cook meat so that it's safe for us to consume. Why not just stop eating meat, because then we wouldn't have to worry about super bugs from eating beef?
You can take my bacon, when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.
My grandmother insists that beef is okay to eat raw, she eats some raw every time we make burgers, but she blames antibiotics for her UTI's and health decline. :disappoint: She doesn't seem to understand that this isn't the same beef she had in Denmark back in the 30's.
medium/medium rare is the only acceptable form of burger unless it's one of those weird really thin ones
If you're going to be eating burgers that are not well done, then make sure you're grinding the mince yourself or from a reliable source. A burger cooked at a level to kill bacteria is usually something around a medium/medium well.
My grandmother insists that beef is okay to eat raw
It is, for the most case, rare/medium isn't raw if thats what you're implying. You also have things like tartare, cured meats etc.
Personally I like char on meat, crispy I guess is the term I would describe it, if something is too rare to the point that it's just a slab of textureless juicy glob I don't find that appealing.

Enough to instantly sear the outside and leave a great texture, but have the inside still be rare with no juices leaking out.
Humans are meant to be vegetarian, but are able to eat meat/fish if vegetables are not available.
Ugh, I'm sorry that isn't right either. Humans aren't "meant" to be vegetarian just like humans aren't "meant" to be carnivores. We have the ability to efficiently consume and digest both to generally benefit from our environments.
You can't be feeding her properly for her to do such a thing.
This is why I keep her out of the kitchen.
Humans are meant to be vegetarian, but are able to eat meat/fish if vegetables are not available.
Can you explain why humans can consume fat (vegetarian great apes find it difficult), have incisors/canines, small jaws, large brains, etc? If a gorilla started eating the quantities of meat, fat, etc that humans regularly do, it would be dead before its 20.
Anything cooked over medium rare is ruined beef. Not bad taste but not very safe. [editline]24th August 2015[/editline] Funny enough, I've had life threatening E. coli O157:H7.... ... from eating vegetables. [editline]24th August 2015[/editline] I had blood coming out both ends and my kidneys stopped working and I needed dialysis for 3 weeks. I was 9. Fuck vegetables man.

i eat any beef I get at medium rare, steak or burger or anything else i've only ever gotten sick from sketchy mexican restaurants and asian food, never once from a burger or a steak or anything toughen up and stop burning your meat people
Only person who should be serving rare burgers is a zoo keeper.
I must agree. The only compromise I would make is if I see specifically where that meat comes from. Sometimes farms produce their own ground beef and sell it locally at the small co-op or farmers market or something, that stuff is relatively safe in comparison, since it is usually pasture raised and in good health.
I prefer my burgers to medium. My steaks to be rare to medium rare. Never eat anything well done, I personally find it removes most of the juices, and destroys the texture and flavor. Is it safe? No. Is it tasty? Yes
