This is total BS and I don't see how anyone can feel morally responsible by convicting these two parents. Also why does the article use the term "mum." It makes the source look really unprofessional and annoying.
mum is the proper English term, note the OP quoted the mirror.co.uk.
I cannot believe this story... come on, this shit doesn't seriously happen does it. Jail time? Month long child removal?! I've seen cruel jokes before but this takes the fucking cake. I can only mirror what others said - I myself grew up wandering around doing whatever I pleased, walking the roads or exploring in the forest, hanging around the house sometimes when locked out... my mum worked two jobs and it was just me and her, but no one would be stupid enough to call the police, and the police here would certainly not be stupid enough to put my mum in JAIL for that!! Just... fucking wow. The kid was AT HOME, he wasn't sitting on some gutter somewhere crying and screaming for his parents. Perhaps this is just a sign of changing times, all of this ridiculous "Think of the children!" overbearing protectiveness and a desperation by law enforcement and government bodies and such to appeal to parents by appearing to be super productive in 'protecting' kids now. 'Protecting', huh.
This. It's insane. You know what the fucking police would have said to our parents when we were kids if we got locked out of the house after school for an hour? "Ma'am you need to get your son a spare key. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get one made for him or we'll ticket you" or something similar.
If she was that concerned about the kid, why not invite the kind you her home and leave a note on the door.
...and get arrested for child abduction? :v:
Hope this neighbor is fucking proud of themselves because they just destroyed an entire families lives.
Knowing some assholes that was the entire plan. "Ohhhh Debra is SOO getting it for what she pulled at the PTA meeting last month. CPS will have her for sure."
Why Florida? Why is it ALWAYS Florida? Why can't we hear good news out of Florida at least...
Parents should file charges
God, these neighbors in the article sound like the old neighbors I used to have. Always calling the cops on people in the neighborhood, always lying, cheating, being a general PAIN IN THE ASS. Good thing they moved 500 miles away because they lost their jobs.
Wow my parents should rot in jail the fucking scum.
The kid's fine. He just sorta shrugged and started playing basketball. Physical activity OH NO! When I was 11 I was riding my bicycle up to a mile and a half from my house pretty regularly, left to my own devices for where to go what to do and how long to stay out(Up to a limit, had to be home around sundown or call). I came out fine. There's no reason to charge this kid's parents over 90 minutes. Get real, police.
Can't we report these Neighbors for Child Abuse? I mean really, calling the police over this has to be Child Abuse.
I agree, they actually made this whole story up to draw attention to Obama's police state.
IDK about made up, but I really wouldn't point stretching the truth (e.g. portraying the being left outside for an hour and a half as the primary reason CPS decided to intervene, when some other reason could exist) past Fox. Until another source confirms this (that isn't just citing the Fox article like the mirror article is) I think I'll take this with a grain of salt
Haha I had shit like this happen all the time when I was younger then 11, I guess my parents should of gotten life making a big deal outa nothing
