I would assume because it's one of, if not the largest Muslim nation on the planet, and these guys typically like to cause harm to Muslim targets who they see as not being Muslim enough.
Belgium police just closed loads of streets and occupied an hotel called Radisson Blu, looks like they found some info
Multiple police operations are ongoing atm.
So what then, some autists just lied about terror threats to make their piece of shit secret internet club look like a bunch of cool kids? I say this is the equivalent of crying wolf over fucking bombings and shootings.
some news report shots heard
Considering how shitty Anonymous' war on ISIS has been so far I've tempted to write this off as an attention grabbing exercise.
Of course if none of these events happen Anon will still parade it around as a victory as they'll claim they prevented it.

The FBI's already described the story about an Atlanta attack as "not credible"
Isn't pulling attention seeking stunts like this illegal?

we're talking about anonymous here
Isn't pulling attention seeking stunts like this illegal?
For entities who aren't anonymous and claim they will happen, yeah. But also you're being kind of harsh on a group of people still only trying to help. Who really benefits from "Anonymous" being popular?
I don't think anybody took this as proof that something was planned to go down, or would go down and I don't think anyone would look to be as mad as you seem over this.
And nothing happened, GG on anon, I was going to post a bet but thats against the rules, so i'll say this, dont ever believe anything anon says lol. Even if they are taking down twitter accounts, there claims are usually bullshit.

Better be safe than sorry. Maybe the attacks were legit but got called off or will happen at a later time? Honestly we will never know if there's any truth to it or not but for things like that, I'd rather be safe.

And let's not forget that many of the twitter accounts that Anonymous has reported weren't ISIS-related at all.
"...Users flag content for us through our standard reporting channels, we review their reports manually, and take action if the content violates our rules,” the spokesperson said, adding: “We don’t review anonymous lists posted online, but third party reviews (of anonymous' list) have found them to be wildly inaccurate and full of academics and journalists.”
Speaking devil's advocate here, you can be a journalist or academic and still be affiliated with ISIS.

But in most cases, not really.

That's the problem with Anonymous. Anyone can post anything under their guise, so anything that isn't true or otherwise is negative hurts their cause.
Sunday at 930pm EST. Nothing happened.
Congrats guys. You freaked out and grasped straws right at the very end but no matter what, you got taken for a ride by fucking anonymous of all people.
So we can now review the situation and conclude:
1 - It was a ruse and and like mentioned above you fell for it simply out of fear and paranoia.
2 - We scared them terrorists away! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Rah Rah Rah! Democracy! *gorilla chest thumping*
Either way, someone's going to run around with the fact nothing happened and say this was because of some top secret ant-terror operation and billions of dollars in funding and intelligence collection they can't talk about due to "national security issues" and we'll never know and frankly, we shouldn't care.
Dunno why you'd take a claim from an anonymous person serious...

It's better to take it seriously and potentially save lives than be skeptical and get people killed. There's nothing more valuable than a human life, and it should be treated as such.
But in most cases, not really.
Considering they have a magazine, and how easy it is to be considered a journalist (these days anyway), the former is at least believable.
