Sorry for not being caring/considerate, but she was hot. What a loss.
Why'd you think it made the news? If she was an ugly black poor kid, it would just be another day.
I'm a wealthy and live a great life! Oh no my parents divorced and i get bullied for it. Oh well time to commit suicide on the rail track and probably make some engine driver depressed to. Pathetic and selfish act.
People have jumped (or fallen) in front of trains on the London Underground system in increasing numbers throughout the twentieth century. During the past decade there have been about 100 such incidents each year, of which around 90 would involve the train driver witnessing his train strike the person on the track. Most are suicides or attempts at suicide. They represent major unexpected and violent events in the lives of the train drivers and it might be expected that some of them would respond by developing a post-traumatic stress reaction of the type identified by Horowitz (1976) or other adverse psychological reactions or both. The research reported in this paper was designed to characterize the range of responses of drivers to the experiences of killing or injuring members of the public during the course of their daily work. It was found that 16.3% of the drivers involved in incidents did develop post-traumatic stress disorder and that other diagnoses, e.g. depression and phobic states, were present in 39.5% of drivers when interviewed one month after the incident.
Jumping in front of trains is a ridiculously selfish way to kill yourself.
Really? Wouldn't it be enough for them to just understand how their bullying indirectly killed someone? I'm sure if they knew the girl was going to hop in front of a train they wouldn't have made fun of her. People bully eachother all the time but that doesn't make them monsters, they just don't realize the effect it has on people until it's too late.
I doubt the assholes in my high school would've cared if the person they bullied killed themselves. Hell, they'd probably blame it on the the person they bullied rather than themselves.
Thats a horrible thing to say.
It's sort of true though.
Suicide might be selfish. But people who do it, don't do it to escape life, they do it to escape the pain they are feeling. And in my opinion I don't think it helps so much to say that it is selfish.

Doing it in such a way that causes much more unnecessary pain is, though.
Fucking sickening, honestly. Bullies just reflect their woes and worries onto others, their parents are probably divorced as well. Fuckers.
Seems she was too weak for the real world if she can't even handle school bullies.
What exactly do you mean too "weak" Mr. Nietzsche?
They'll probably make jokes now how much she was a crybaby for killing herself. I know how people act when it comes to shit like this in schools like that, I went to something similar in middle school. Selfish fucks. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
This is just tragic... and highlights the bullying problems in today's schools. My heart goes out to her family, especally her brother. Yeah, right, my school said the same thing when a girl (a friend of mine) moved to another country over the bullying she recieved (it was in the local paper). I know they were "aware" of the bullying, because I went into our school office multiple times WITH her whilst she was in tears to report that she'd be beaten up, spat at, pushed over, ect. And the same happened with me, I reported being bullied (homophobic bullying because I had a girlfriend at the time) tens of times (beaten up, name calling, being spat at), they did -nothing-, so I stopped coming to school. When the Education Welfare group asked my Mum why I'd been having so much time off, she said "bullying" and the school said "Oh, well, we had ~NO~ knowledge of this apparent bullying!" [sp]and now I'm sitting here thinking, thank fuck I'm in college where people are actually mature and act their age...[/sp] Maybe I'm being cynical, but that quote just makes me think the school are trying to cover their asses. :smith: Maybe they didn't know, but... really...
My school had a group of Neo-Nazis who kept on bullying everyone who was a minority and my school did jack shit while they still "enforced" their anti-bullying policy.
Man, the amount of ignorant insensitivity on this page is staggering. So her death doesn't warrant any sympathy because: A. She was a rich, white girl. (Everyone know that because you are rich and white your life is wonderful.) B. She was selfish to commit suicide. (Honestly, does really fucking matter? Selfish would be strapping a bomb to yer chest and taking the entire platform with you. That's selfish.) C. She was weak. The fact that she killed herself shows that she would never have made it in the real world. (Cause God knows that bullying increases ten fucking fold when you leave highschool right?) I just had to make that list real quick, just so I could verify what you guys are saying. Does that make sense to guys? Does this list represent you guys fairly accurately?
i hope the school haunts the students

And yes, being rich and white does make your life better. It doesn't mean you will be happy, but you will have far more opportunities for happiness.
i do agree on she shouldnt be affected by bullies though
It's just a big shame that people are like this. You'd think that by this point in their lives they'd grow up and treat others humanely.
its funny how a popular athlete gets picked on i mean what kind of popular athlete gets picked on?
Oh man this is sad :saddowns: Bullied over a divorce is really fucking low. That's lower than whale shit low.

That's not to say there isn't racism, but being that as of the year 2007 55.6% of my city's population (Washington, DC) is black it would be very hard for us not to report on news relating to poor black kids. Especially since DC is one the cities that helps define the stereotype of poor black kid. And again we must have different definitions of a "better life" because a better life for me involves more happiness than anything else. MORE IMPORTANTLY how did this become a discussion about race?
That's just bogus. She looks hot, too.
Happened in my county, read it in the local paper. Really sad :frown:
Sounds like a 'train' of a situation.
you are worst and worst things
Schoolgirl 'bullied over parents' divorce' dies on rail track after texting her brother: I'll miss you
That part especially made me sad. Can't imagine how hard it must be to get a message from someone that close to you, to later find out it was a final farewell.
This should be a crime. So should encouraging suicide. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline] Boy you sound like a nice and sympathetic person.
i'm not sympathetic towords suicide, or stupidity. learned that from me mother :v:
:frown:
This is an extra sad story.... the fact that pathetic bullies caused it, the fact that she texted her brother before she did it. She looks like girls my age, like girls I know. I'm really fucking sad now :frown:
I live in the town where this happened. First it started off as me finding out my mate had to take a replacement bus because the train was canceled. Heard in school a girl committed suicide. Got home, saw it was all over facebook, found out who it was. Saw some comments that she jumped in front of a train. It's pretty sad. The people who bullied her about that need to be shot.
Fucking sad.
I wish i could drag bullies on a train track and watch them get killed.
What the fuck would of these "bullies" said about her parents divorcing? Seriously?
