Once again for the EU:

and the US if you want to...
I'm seriously starting to think that European schools are pretending that one of the most important events in history never happened.
When you say "one of the most important events in history" are you referring to the USA gaining its independence? Because if you are, that certainly isn't one of the most important events in history.

We do learn about it, but not that much. It is kinda like French Revolution, we get the basic information, important characters and timeline, and that's about it.
But can you tell what you learned about Winter War in your schools?
Is that why they think I live in an igloo
We just don't learn about Canada because honestly we consider you pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Finally I can be proud to be European
Finally I can be proud to be European
Because America made a mistake?
Why wouldn't you already be proud?
Everyone has at least one reason to be proud of their nation no matter how insignificant.
Stop this retarded fucking debate and start discussing ACTA.
What's going on
Stop this retarded fucking debate and start discussing ACTA.
I agree but unfortunately a large majority of Facepunch like to discuss America for better or worse frequently any chance they get.
Never mind, now we can laugh at the politicians because the cat is out of the bag.
This ACTA thing is really ramming everyone in the ass.
I've learned about Romanian events that have nothing to do with the U.S. in my school.
Well I really had no idea somebody would give a shit about us, especially US. We didn't do anything that major like you guys using the A bomb or the Normandy landings or whatever that should be worth mentioning in the history somewhere else than here in our country.
Oh well, guess I was wrong then v:v:v
Why won't they just arrange an accidental leak to Wikileaks?

This.

For such an oil-dependant nation you sure don't seem to know much about your largest supplier of oil. (And only real ally that sells you the stuff in any significant quantity)

Okay great you also supply a LOT of our electricity..
I know a lot about Canada but the average American does not because it does not get much coverage in the media because most citizens here don't care..
Proud member of a country in the EU
which.?
Loving how this turned into a flamewar almost completely unrelated to the OP, guys. Good going.
Apparently we are the main problem when it comes to piracy.
I laugh, it's going to wikileaks whether or not they like it.
As an American I have to say I really like you Europeans.
As an American I can say I have a great deal of respect for every first world country, because even though they are not without fault each of them have accomplished something by being able to say they are a first world country.
I can also say that people in this thread need to stop shit flinging.

Canada is one of our biggest trade partners, it doesn't matter whether or not the media gives a shit about Canada.
The average United States citizen should learn about the gigantic ally/trade partner that borders the U.S. on two fronts.

America gaining independence isn't all that important globally. They would have gained it eitherway sooner or later.
The impact it had on the french revolution which in turn impacted most Euro constitutions is a different matter though.
And yay for Eu politicians finally doing something right again. At least something to relieve the tensions between the weak and strong economies for a few hours :P
Here's several more petitions I found...

Really? Cause given the state of the world now, I would have to disagree. In fact, I could make the same argument against the French Revolution. But I won't because I have respect for history and realise that both events had huge historical significance.
