And even then its not the standard 60.
Only 20 dollars. 40 gives you all the accesories and access to the costumes when they come out iirc.
costumes that you can earn through playing with the 20 dollar version*
Jago is the jack-of-all-trades. How is he gonna have a counter?
That's pretty shitty game wise, then why bother playing anyone else if one can beat them all.
That's pretty shitty game wise, then why bother playing anyone else if one can beat them all.
Ok, so you never played a fighting game. Why didn't you start from there?
Wait, so if this game was a F2P, meaning from what I can understand its multiplayer. Why wouldn't the guy be connected to the internet to begin with? He'd be playing with no one but himself, correct?
Did SFIV give you one character for free? Did Marvel do that? How about SFxT? No, they fucking didn't, it's still better than nothing.
No it's not. I'd rather buy the fucking game and have everything instead of "HEY GUYS IT'S F2P [sp]oh but you have to buy every character but the one we give you so we can call it f2p[/sp]" Also technically yeah they gave me all the characters for free when I bought this thing called a game
-wait snip-

It's clearly just a generous demo, but it's not as bad as you guys make it out to be.
Doesn't this mean everyone online plays Jago and rarely you get anything else? [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] So, not unlike SF
I don't get all the hatred towards KI. I mean, sure, maybe it's not as good as SFIV (although they're vastly different so it kinda depends on taste) but it's still better than UMvC3, and everyone and their mothers loved that. [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] Did SFIV give you one character for free? Did Marvel do that? How about SFxT? No, they fucking didn't, it's still better than nothing.
I remember that DoA5 (PSN) handed out 4 characters and all of the stages.
It's pretty much a game demo. You guys are dumb lmao
Itt people have no idea what they're talking about
Holy shit this whole thread is full of bullshit. KI is a good game with a fantastic fighting system. If you want to see how the should be properly played/how fluid the gameplay is, check out Miles923/Maximilian dood on YouTube. One of the worst netcodes? Way to pull that out of your fucking ass. It has one of the best, if not, THE best netcode available in any fighting game out right now. To anybody else wondering: KI's F2P gives you one of the most all-around/balanced characters in the game. For only 20 bucks, (1/3 of the cost of a new fighting game) you get all the characters. For 40 bucks, you get all the characters + new ones coming out along with exclusive, cosmetic costumes. Why the fuck are we complaining here? A game with one of the best netcodes, a solid but limited roster, fluid fighting system, and you guys complain because it was 'advertised wrong'? What the fuck? Look at the circumstances. Yeah, your 'counter character' arguments don't hold true, at least for KI. Say, for example we take Sabrewulf a rushdown character vs. Glacius, the fighter that plays a keep away/long range game, it's EQUALLY winnable for both of them. If Sabrewulf keeps closing gaps and plays a good foosties game he can go to town on Glacius. There are no counters in KI. Nada. Each character you fight against requires you to play a certain way. Like, I don't even know how any of you can actually make these claims without actually have played the game, dammit. The netcode delay is literally 1-2 frames of delay, every match consistantly. I've played this about 14~ish times on the Xbone at a friend's house and it really is an incredible fighting game. The people who complained here on the thread clearly haven't played this or has given KI a poor chance. The mechanics don't even take that long to learn properly. tl;dr I've probably said more than I should have but KI absolutely does not deserve the half-assed negative coverage in this thread. It's a good game.

This issue is quite common might I add. Second of all, Double Helix is known for terrible games.

For a "common" issue there have been very few reports of this, and it only occurs when there's a bad connection between players, in other words, long distance or overseas matches. If you're gonna attempt THAT in any fighting game then you deserve whatever issues you get. So, way to pull that out of your ass. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline]
Second of all, Double Helix is known for terrible games.
Now this is just a terrible counter argument and I'm not even gonna tell you why, it's fairly obvious.
Aaaaaand...-snip-! Title of video was misleading as there is another problem with the exact same name :v
That's really strange. When I played the game, the Xboxes were offline and still played the game fine.
Ok, so you never played a fighting game. Why didn't you start from there?
I play plenty, it's pretty bland and boring if one character excels at everything. That pretty much goes with almost any game period. I mean you can handicap yourself for bragging rights, but competitive wise it's meh.

He's good in many ways but doesn't exceed in anything. That means that, while it has no counters (and frankly, no character does), it won't kick the living shit out of everyone with no effort. You might've heard about this before, it's this wonderful thing called ~balance~
If you don't like fighting games, don't play them? Dunno how else to put that, lol.
If you don't like fighting games, don't play them? Dunno how else to put that, lol.
This is facepunch, the forum where everyone constantly bitches about how they dislike games like Call of Duty yet for some reason continue buying them

Jesus christ a sudden influx of "You guys are all stupid"

You might've heard about this before, it's this wonderful thing called ~balance~
How is a character balanced if he's even on all levels of the playing field, almost every other fighting game I play has different roles for different characters. Skulls girls, KOFs, balzeblue, streetfighter, and even marvel vs cap com do it. I can't even really think of a jack of all trades character in all of those that is a jack of all trades.
are you fucking kidding ryu is the quintessential 'jack of all trades'. it's been his thing for around 25 years
No it's not. You can either buy the game for 20 bucks with all characters or buy the game with all characters with all cosmetic stuff for 40 or you can get the game for free and only play with one character (I think it's changing every week) or you can play the game in parts (buy only the two characters that interest you for instance). It's literally impossible to consider that worse than normal F2P or normal paid games unless you misunderstood how it works.
This thread is a great example on how Microsoft screwed themselves over with the Xbox One. Make a huge mistake and fix it by launch? Gamers everywhere will still hate you unconditionally and shoot down everything you do. Kinda sad really.
This whole $20 for all characters and 40 for their costumes and cosmetics sounds good at first. But watch as they decide to add new characters and they start nickel and diming you more. You'll probably be spending 80 to 100 bucks to get everything.
I know right? It's like, every other paid fighting game or some shit. Unbelievable. [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] Okay, whose ass did you pull that from? You get Jago for free and then you pay for the rest like you would pay for any other fighting game. It's more generous than it seems like, considering they're probably losing a lot of money by doing this.
Uh, Persona 4 Arena and Blazblue don't do that
