Honestly though, I liked Twin Snakes, it just had a cutscene director that had way too much of a hard-on for The Matrix.
Actually, the director originally recreated the cutscenes exactly like they were in the first game, but Kojima didnt want that, so they scrapped them and remade them in that anime/matix style.

Well, fuck. Still a shitty idea.
Flat models, sharp shadows, single-strength lightning and no anti-aliasing.
Wow, I am unimpressed.
what, you mean you don't like every quick movement making the sound of a 747 and Snake essentially being Spider Man?

Yes, that director sucked ass.
Kojima has some over the top shit, but for the most part there's some decent restraint. Kojima is an excellent director really, just please don't ask him to write something and not expect it to be a fucking hot mess.

I never heard of Kojima, they're that company that makes that one console exclusive game I keep hearing about? Console exclusive.. Couldn't care less.

Those office recreations could easily be done in any modern engine, the other pictures they've shown look like any other console game.
Not that I deny it, but could I ask for an example or proof?

More like Farcry
Why doesn't he try and make a new game or something not based on the same characters and over complicating everything

He wants to. Believe me he wants to. Every interview he's done in the last few years has had him mention that he wants to drop MGS. But he keeps doing it for the fans. He actually gives enough of a fuck about his customers to want to make the games they request. And he was kinda obliged to make MGS4 anyway because of all the god damn plot inconsistencies brought about in MGS2. Not that it fixed much though, still a great game.
What happened to that engine that used voxel type things?
What happened to that engine that used voxel type things?
Been quiet since last year. Notch thinks it's bullshit and Carmack doesn't believe it will be possible on current systems. They never showed any actual demonstration gameplay.

Holy shit you actually take anything Kojima says seriously?
You understand the guy is the most inconsistent and troll like in his opinions and answers right?
Kojima fucking loves Metal Gear, seriously you can see the passion oozing out of every game in the series despite him claiming to want to have killed the series after MGS1. In fact the passion put into creating these games is probably one of it's saving graces because it's sure as fuck not the writing that keeps people coming back for more.
If he was just making titles to appease the fans, they wouldn't be anywhere near the quality that they are.
Honestly, you cannot take anything Kojima says at face value. The dude's mood is one of the most inconsistent in the video game industry.

Shit that's a good point, I keep forgetting he's quite like that. Though he does still like his older games too, it wouldn't surprise me if he really did want to go back to them.

Yeah they did, after Notch thought it was bullshit they finally let some guy come and look at it, there is a whole interview somewhere
I guess they don't want to fall for the From Dust effect.

The games are expertly written to annoy the player: the second had the early bait-and-switch for a character which the audience would hate, the third was deliberately an out-of-nowhere prequel, and the fourth resolved every unexplained thing in an entirely unsatisfying way. Kojima doesn't want to make bad games, but it's fairly clear he doesn't want people asking for more.
Because it's a really good game series?
yeh it's great, until you get to that convoluted mess that is the game kojima didn't even want to make; mgs4. yeh great can't wait for another piece of crap he wants to make even less. i bet that'll come out great
"Did you rike it?"
I'll never forget that trailer. Christ, PS3 players have actually been trolled hard in the early years. First Motorstorm turns out to be hyped bullshit, then FFVII tech demo then Shadow Moses demo... Us poor sods...

He wanted to do Peace Walker and that turned out just fine.
He wanted to do Peace Walker and that turned out just fine.
Peace Walker was fantastic, I just wish they made it for PS3 instead of PSP originally.
If they do remake Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2, I think they should be one whole game.
If they do remake Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2, I think they should be one whole game.
Prolly will be. This smells like aproaching that. It'll probably have the twist of both Big Bosses and Solid Snakes perspectives. Much like MGS2.
Remaking MG1 and MG2 are actually very good ideas, now that we have played as Big Boss in the past couple of games.
Having a fight to the death with a character that you played as in the past few games could be really awesome.

"Doing it for the fans". MGS2 was a gigantic "fuck you" to the fans.

Yeah there's passion there because that's how Japanese are. He's too prideful to make a bad game, let alone a bad game about what got him started in the industry.
