what is the process of something being preserved in the library of Congress?
what is the process of something being preserved in the library of Congress?
I would imagine they get a copy of a disc of the master recording.
what is the process of something being preserved in the library of Congress?
an intern goes down to the music shop and buys a copy. They put it on a shelf.
Or they just get any old cd and throw it on a shelf there. [editline]21st March 2013[/editline] Dammit.
I thought it already had been selected for preservation. The more you know.
I think The Wall is better as a whole, surprised it was this over The Wall. In the Flesh part 2, comfortably numb, The Wall 1-3(probably the most memorable) The Trial, some of the best.
I don't understand why everyone has a hardon for Pink Floyd and I think it is the most overrated music ever created.
Sonic Youth beat them to it by like 7 years. Take that, lame dadrock.

Anyway, awesome The Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favorite albums.

lets divert this to a discussion about how good daydream nation is that said dark side of the moon completely shocked me out of my skull the first time I heard it
I think this is the album with the best intro ever. Breathe is such an amazing song, and the way the intro pretty much gives you a small taste of what basically every song on the album sounds like is just incredibly ingenious. Once you listen it at the beginning of the album, it just becomes so hard to stop listening, it catches you right away.
I think this is the album with the best intro ever.
nope double nickels on the dime is dat car jam
nope double nickels on the dime is dat car jam
car jam is pretty lame by the average standards of that album LUCKILY IT'S STILL GREAT

The Pulse Live version of Comfortably Numb's solo #2 is just euphoric.
I don't understand why everyone has a hardon for Pink Floyd and I think it is the most overrated music ever created.
I thought that too until I actually listened to it. Now I'm hooked.
Piper At The Gates Of Dawn > DSOTM Still, great to hear DSOTM is going to be preserved in the archives, but, in my opinion, they've done work that is so much better than DSOTM.

I should probably rewatch it sometime. [editline]22nd March 2013[/editline] I love MOON8. It's Dark Side of the Moon in 8-bit.
I don't understand why everyone has a hardon for Pink Floyd and I think it is the most overrated music ever created.
"Put em Against the Wall!"

I hope no one tries to meddle with it
I thought Saturday Night Fever was already added to the list, probably just the movie I was thinking of. Still the soundtrack was pretty much just as important as the movie.
