Target audience? 6?
Most 6 year olds dont have $300 lying around, and most parents wouldnt give a 6 year old a considerably expensive piece of tech.
Tell that to all the kids on xbox live.
If a kid screams enough, you'll do anything to shut it up. Though leaving it at the store's cheaper than buying it a 3DS I guess.

oooooh yes parents will. mommy mommy i want it NOW!
It's the same "risks" that come with 3D movies now. I hate when shit gets over exaggerated.
looks liike 99% of facepunch can't use the 3ds.
99% of Facepunch are older than 6.
But they're not older than 13.
At least they go out with a warning. Very good riddance Nintendo.

This is the same for every method of 3D. You know the 3D displays that are all the rage nowadays? Same fucking thing the 3DS does, except what separates the images on the 3DS is in the screen, instead of in glasses.
Why is this so hard to understand? People act like the 3DS is something new magical technology that hasn't been tested, even though it's all the same.

Exactly, whether it is 3d at the cinema, at home or on the 3DS, glasses or no glasses, every type of false-depth 3d is dangerous to very young children due to their developing eyes. Its just Nintendo being Nintendo, remember they also had warnings about fatigue and repetitive strain injuries on the Wii, and every console of theirs has a warning that you need to take 15 minute breaks after every hour of playing in case you get a migraine and decide to sue them.

Nice one Nintendo, making your target audience blind!
This is nothing new.
There was an experiment where kitties lived in tubes that had vertical or horizontal lines, and the kittens became prety much blind.

Oh I love you so much.

SO? I did read it. What are you trying to prove.
Isn't it a good thing that Nintendo goes out with this warning since their users is likely to be younger children?

Or you know, you can actually be a good parent and not throw money at the problem.
You throw fists instead :smugdog:

You're a bad parent if you buy your child whatever it wants just because it wont shut up.
Nintendo doesnt fuck around with seizures and eyes and shit anymore. Not after last time.

Yep

The only reason they say it might harm a small child's eyes is because they don't really know what effect it will have and that's just the age when your eyes finish developing.
3d is dumb
Provided that it doesn't need any extra equipment or processing power, I think its a useful development. You know whats dumb? Trying to create artificial DOF in video games.
