What the hell. That's so surreal.
Suicide by tiger? Why would she disregard procedure like that?
This is pretty dumb. There are less than 2500 bengal tigers remaining, and people with more money than sense pay to take them out of the wild.
You do know that wild animals can be rescued because their mother was killed by some unrelated event, right? They probably bought it after it was rescued. So what would you have them do? They can't exactly just leave it in the wild when it's a helpless cub, and from the other videos I saw, they treat it with a lot of love, and it even has it's own huge area to play around in.
Maybe she felt close enough to the tigers that she could interact with them without being in danger. A fateful assumption.
Its scary to think that I was at this zoo only the other week D:

D'aww what a cuddly & potentially deadly cat.
Maybe she was a nutcase like the guy in that Grizzly Man Documentary.

Holy Christ. And I thought my housemate's big, fat Maine Coon was a big cat.
The parts that show him playfighting with it scare me.
She was a zookeeper.
It's not like she was a random person who jumped into the pen to mess with a Tiger...
So? It's still extremely stupid to go into an enclosure with large animals. Not every tiger is trained well enough to be around humans (and even then they sometimes get aggressive)
Certainly not the greatest of ideas.
saw this story on huffpost months ago.

Thats amazing that you saw a story months ago, on something that only happened a couple of days ago!
Had something like that happen here in Australia a few years back.
Steve Irwin's Australia Park Zoo has their tigers chained down during visiting sessions, so if they got rowdy you could step off the platform, which they wouldn't be able to get off. (The chain isn't visible to the camera for the photos)
A rival zoo didn't do this, they just had theirs led by leashes, like dogs. One of them got a bit excited and a young woman decided to turn and sprint the other way instead of slowly backing off, tiger went after it's natural plans, pounce, teeth through skull, dead.

It is if you want to die. Otherwise it's certainly not the greatest of ideas, or even a partially acceptable idea.

Best way to keep people out of your house.
Was she trying to get some of that Reddit karma?

Can you even imagine breaking into someone's house and there's a fucking bengal tiger there?
From the BBC article:
For some reason it really bugs me that when talking about killing animals, the PC term is "destroyed" for some reason?
You destroy an inanimate object, not a living creature.
Update: The tiger escaped and dragged her into his pen, she didn't commit suicide
