Marijuana is now officially legal in Washington; you can also now officially get a marriage license

1. Sell
2. Split with friends, everyone pays for it and one buys it and brings it to the party?
I've heard of a few guys buying weed by 100g measures. Probably for one of those reasons.
What do you mean "can't sell it"? A typical street dealer doesn't carry more than a couple of grams anyway.
I didn't say that.
They can still be busted for having that much (at home).
I'm not doing that by association. I'm saying that before I evaluate the evidence for any conspiracy theory, the prior probability I assign to it is going to be pretty fucking small because of the aforementioned reasons. If the evidence is actually enough to outweigh that, then fine, I'll change my mind.
I don't know much about yellow journalism with regard to prohibition, so if you could link me to some quality discussions of the topic then that would be nice.
if you dont want articles that come from biased pro-marijuana sources then i suggest these wikipedia pages
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Randolph_Hearst#Yellow_journalism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Journalism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_history_of_cannabis_in_the_United_States#Marijuana_Tax_Act_.281937.29
there are some scholarly sources among them.
these are obviously biased and less well-sourced:

trafficking
Totally progressive, yeah! Also it makes sense to not allow smoking it in public, since mind-altering drugs, the hazards of the outdoors and public interaction are things that don't exactly make an amazing spaghetti carbonara of a situation.
Also; take that conservative interests! Stick THAT in ya pipe and smoke it! Seriously, it'll be good for your tight ass, but do it in your own home for safety reasons.
trafficking
I meant as an user - someone who smokes recreationally.
What a single person would be doing with an ounce, let alone a pound of weed is beyond me.

smoking it?
my friend used to buy marijuana by the ounce.

Also - as with cigarettes, nobody should be forced to deal with your smoke (and smell)
I dont know how I feel about it. On one hand yeah, weed isn't that bad for people. But on the other hand theres nothing I find more annoying than a pothead.
Well, since using drugs doesn't directly harm anyone other than possibly the drug users, what right does one have to forbid it?
Can't sell that effectively if you only have an ounce at a time.
Keep in mind they haven't made trade legal yet, only possession and use, and when they do, it's going to be heavily regulated, so possession of over an ounce will probably still be illegal without license.
I could make bank off of an ounce at a time. Trade should be completely legal, it's a victimless crime.
What a single person would be doing with an ounce, let alone a pound of weed is beyond me.
Smoke it? Usually people buy ounces in order to save money and not have to go buy a 20 bag every week. It's a lot cheaper if you buy by the ounce.
What do you mean "can't sell it"? A typical street dealer doesn't carry more than a couple of grams anyway.
You don't know very many dealers lol. My main dealer has giant sandwich bags full of weed which he has to replace every day.
Also - as with cigarettes, nobody should be forced to deal with your smoke (and smell)
Aye; tobacco on its own probably isn't as bad as sucking on a tailpipe (not completely harmless but what is?), but all the toxins bundled into cigarettes can make the smoke a real nasty thing, and it's something that kids shouldn't be exposed to, especially not asthmatic kids. Takes sense that there's a lot of no-smoking zones in the country nowadays, since cigarettes are pretty much poison incense with added tobacco.
I dont know how I feel about it. On one hand yeah, weed isn't that bad for people. But on the other hand theres nothing I find more annoying than a pothead.
So laws should bend to what you do and do not find annoying? Let's try to keep emotions out of this, shall we?

Mate, I do. I don't know how things go where you live, but here, walking around with more than 2-3 grams isn't something you do every day.
Of course the place filled with fucking vampires would pass some bullshit like this. Niggas need to fucking get jobs instead.
Mate, I do. I don't know how things go where you live, but here, walking around with more than 2-3 grams isn't something you do every day.
Weird, you must live in a place where pot is highly frowned upon. Here in Missouri (not exactly a weed friendly state), it's completely normal to see stoners carrying somewhere in the vicinity of 3.5 to 7 grams on their person, and those aren't even the dealers.
Hell, one of my friends used to (dunno if she still does) buy quarter pounds for personal use so she wouldn't have to buy any that often.
I meant as an user - someone who smokes recreationally.
well you've answered your own question. "what would a recreational user do with recreational drugs?" you know the answer to that one.

you forgot to thinly veil your terrible views this time
Just wondering, how many smokers are in here? or least reading this? rate it as informative or something.
I smoke cannabis for the health benefits, like how it greatly contributed healing of my asthma, that must make me a total loser.

All those people must be total losers too.

I express my views with any recent exposure to a situation or occurrence that could possibly have an effect on them, mull them over, then revise them before shipping them out. What you assume of that is completely different than what is actually occurring, though I can't blame you for not being able to see something from another person's perspective. However, defining my views as terrible goes a bit too far, especially given that you know nothing of how I reached those views other than information I've already provided.

I'm sure you spent hours researching and refining your points to come to the conclusion that everyone in Washington is a jobless vampire.

im sure your views on marijuana and homosexual rights are well-researched and perfectly logical
now about that logic, it's all well and good talking about it. but you're going to have to actually prove it
with stuff like facts
I'm sure you spent hours researching and refining your points to come to the conclusion that everyone in Washington is a jobless vampire.
And I'm sure you're completely capable of being able to actually look through a message and find the actual meaning. Or, at least it seemed like that until I read the quoted post. Clearly, you lack the insight to understand the conveyed meaning.

oh then i am sorry. carry on with your work for the good people of this fine country
Can you imagine the kind of stuff Valve will come up with now?

You got me, I officially have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
What I don't understand about gay marriage is this. Why do all governments believe it has to be one extreme or the other- outlawed absolutely everywhere or forced to be offered absolutely everywhere? I'm sure if they just decided that it's the marriage venues themselves that should choose whether to offer gay marriage or not that it would've been legalised years ago nearly everywhere across the world. The majority of marriages in the western world aren't christian anyway. However if a church doesn't want to marry two men so be it, but most places certainly will, and then i'm certain the places that originally didn't want to would be pressured the other way soon after anyway
However if a church doesn't want to marry two men so be it
thats the way it is under any gay marriage law. no one is barging into churches saying who the pastor has to marry, only that the state has to provide and recognize same-sex marriage
[editline]6th December 2012[/editline]
im pretty sure a church can even refuse to marry interracial couples if they really want even if interracial marriage is legal. i think there was a news story about it some months back even.

Really? Then what's the big problem with legalising gay marriage then when the people who are protesting against it won't need to offer it?
Really? Then what's the big problem with legalising gay marriage then when the people who are protesting against it won't need to offer it?
um thats been our question for years
the only reason i can think of is that people are bigots who dont want the state to recognize human rights when it doesnt jive with their narrow, incomplete view of biblical law and religion.
Barack[sub]a[/sub] has been unleashed.

In other news world poverty and hunger has been eliminated and life has been discovered on Mars

Well the governments are pretty idiotic for not passing a law just because people it won't even affect oppose it because of their personal prejudices
