House Democrats look at taxing the rich for health care
You realise that there are less than 40 Republicans in Congress right? That means that they have very little say in Congress because Democrats have an overwhelming majority. Republicans at this point can't even pull a filibuster to pass something off. Republicans have every right to bash Obama for not including them in governmental decisions. That's about all that can be done by them right now.
Well yes it may be all they can do now but about 10 Democrats in the senate are fiscally conservative or what they call Blue Dog Democrats (dumbass name), which means there is a chance they can stop it from passing.
You're ignoring the point.
We raised taxes on the poor, depressed and desperate.
Maybe if we didn't tax five bucks on a 1.50 pack of cigarettes people would have more money to go to the doctor.
Maybe if we knocked it off with the MEGAMILLIONS TAKE YOUR CHANCE shit people would have more money to invest elsewhere.
Maybe if states that are full of shit stopped making the only way to get liquor through State-run facilities designed for profit, people wouldn't be sent to the poorhouse because of a legal addiction.
Addendum:
Adaptability, inflation, money mismanagement, and a myriad of other factors that have been ignored; all for the glorious sake of scapegoating Capitalism.
Fun fact: Africa has been named on of the fastest growing mobile phone market in the world. Utilize technology (use cellphone towers over land line cables) and said goods will experience a price drop.
About fucking time.

I trust a rich man more than a politician.
Rich people in a free market have risk. If they screw up their business *should* tank. If the government is guranteeing that their business won't fail, like they're trying to do now, then risk is gone so CEOs do really stupid things.
With the possibility of failure, business leaders will do anything they can to make money, which is usually done by satisfying consumers, and managing money well.
[editline]03:02AM[/editline]
The government really has no risk. All of their money is from tax payers (or printed from thin air). CEOs use their own money, so they take care of it better.

How about you stop judging people based on labels and instead get to know them and/or by what standard they make descisions?

Most of them are also old, so they have less to lose.
They also have families and a legacy that they want to uphold. Just because they are going to die doesn't mean they won't give a fuck about their money.
You might be that way, I don't know, but don't be a hypocrite and bitch about labels and shit when you say most CEO's are old people with nothing to lose.

I don't trust anybody.
In fact, I would trust the most fucked up man on earth, because he hasn't got shit to gain in his life.
This taxing of the rich is simply another step in Obama's Statist and Communist plan to redistribute the wealth and transform America in to the USSR.

Best political troll "09?
I think so.
If I will be rich, not going to America

Well said, Rush.
I can't imagine not having free health care in the UK.
And frankly, I don't understand where this absolutely fucking retarded idea that as soon as you have national healthcare, you become socialist comes from.
Some "rich people" are actually small business owners just barely scrapping by. Small business owners give people jobs. Taxes are raised for the "rich," they can't handle it and have to close down. Jobs are lost and more people are poor
What's the point in getting ahead in a system that will ultimately do things such as this...?
Isn't this socialism?

You don't pay attention to the rest of the world, do you?
Socialism - a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
America already has hundreds of social programs, and in fact America can be considered a socialist country already (and there is really no 100% true free market and capitalist country). The major issue with nationalizing health care is that it would in fact be taking over a very large portion of the economy and greatly increase the tax rate for the middle and upper classes.
It can be seen that as government has been more and more active in the health care system in the past few decades, the cost of health care has increased as well. Large government is not the solution to the problem, it is in fact the problem, as it is in many other cases.

Are you kidding? Small government PUT you into this mess.
I can't believe people still believe in small government AFTER the last 8 years of horror.

I thought we got past this during the elections, goddamn you people are thick. Can you only learn things when you see the color red and someone is shouting at you?

That wasn't really small government, more like big government with atrophied legs.

Bush's government was anything but small.
Government has increased significantly since the Regan years, which can be attributed to the democratic government. As many people refuse to acknowledge the president only has power over the military and is not responsible for the money that the democratic congress has spent to increase the size of government.
Bush's government was anything but small.
And you're wrong too. It was a big government that just stuck it's hand in all the wrong places, and left the right places alone entirely.

The last thing the president should be in charge of is the military.
Most republicans these days say they're for small government, but most of them create larger government.
Republicans and Democrats are basically the same anymore. Obama is continuing the war, and the Republicans voted for the Bush bailouts.

No, Obama is continuing the actually important war. The one with the actual terrorists and actual threats.
And that's because republicans are short sighted and irate.

I said it was a big government.

The only thing the president is to be in charge of is the military, as that is his constitutional obligation and responsiblity
