The document raises British concern about the reports that the president is considering offering asylum. It says London's preferred course, even if asylum is offered, is to continue discussions on a mutually acceptable outcome.
However the note did point out that the foreign secretary had the power to go to court to seek the right for UK police to enter the Ecuadorean embassy to arrest Assange. He would have to prove that international law had been broken and that Ecuador was in contravention of its Vienna Convention obligations in harbouring Assange.
The foreign office is confident these conditions would be met. It says the embassy would have a week's notice of the action and the police would not look at or remove any embassy documents and the diplomatic immunity of Ecuadorean diplomats would not be affected.
A foreign office spokesman said that the UK government realised this would be a serious step, but added 'it is not as serious as ending diplomatic relations'. He said the UK saw its paramount obligation was the legal duty to extradite Assange.
Albury's got fresh batteries and is there now; should be there at the time of the Ecuadorian announcement in just over an hour as well

So if the police raid the place just bury Assange under a pile of documents.
Keep in mind that this is all happening because Assange is accused of breaking a condom during consensual sex.

Media agenda or what.
Suspicious amounts of pizza arriving at the embassy

He's not accused of that.

Let them. If they're content with essentially invading Ecuador for him, they get to deal with the consequences.
Has ecuador made its statement yet or when is it due to happen? I know 1 oclock london time but I'm not in the timezone and can't access the stream.

Another way is accusing the person of Antisemitism. Without sounding like a conspiracy theorist he has both of these things thrown at him.
But eh who knows, we may never find out if the allegations are real or not.
i would rather not watch some dumbass fill time
wake me in a few hours when they finally decide to say what we want to hear
Apparently he has been granted asylum

Yeah confirmed, but its a stalemate. How can he leave the embassy and get to ecuador without being arrested? Need to find a way.
Also random act of human kindness, one of the guys running a stream, jalbury I believe, said he was hungry and some guy in canada ordered him a pizza.
I predicted the future with that title. Everyone who doubted me was wrong.

It was privately confirmed that he was to be granted asylum when you posted the OP.

Vehicles carrying embassy plates are also protected under embassy laws. They're basically a moving piece of foreign soil.

What so if a cop stopped them for a speeding ticket it would be a invasion of Ecuador?

Um, send the ticket to the embassy?
Um, send the ticket to the embassy?
I dont think that is covered under the law. Not sure though, criminal offences outside an embassy.

I'm pretty sure that IS covered under laws and treaties.
I'm pretty sure that IS covered under laws and treaties.
Well.. right now we're stuck on two "I dont know" and "I think so"'s so we can't say for sure unless we look at the documents themselves. However I think we're both to lazy to do so.
It's more like why the fuck would there not be laws about that? No country would allow for embassies if their diplomatic freedom was absolute.
