*Drags white sack with lots of red on it in* *dumps it* RECYCLING! :v:
What? Florida?
No, Texas.
turn my body into coal just to make a toaster running :smith:
This is a great idea. It's not like they're throwing random people into furnaces, they're just capturing energy from the cremation process and selling it to the power companies. Some crematoriums and funeral homes are going to be making some serious money.
Personally, when I die, this is what I want to happen to me. At least I can be useful in death, rather than be some corpse buried in the ground somewhere for some worms or termites to bore into the coffin and eat me anyway.
Every time the lightbulb in my bedroom brights up just a little bit, I'll be shedding a tear for the person whose corpse made it happen.
Reminds me of the late 19th century, when the Europeans used mummies from Ancient Egypt as fuel for locomotives since coal was really expensive.
someone explain to me how human bodies are expected to burn like tinderwood? we're 70% water, and i don't think humans are very combustible.
How do they NORMALLY cremate people, if not by burning? I assume dead people burn more easily because during the preparation process the body is drained of blood (etc), resulting (obviously) in a drier body
reminded me of
I live near Durham, so I guess I know whats going to happen to me when I die.
Probably still worse for the environment than just letting your body decompose naturally Natural burials need to be made more readily available
My computer runs on human energy!
This should be implemented in countries with shit-tons of people and extremely high mortality rates!:v:
Probably still worse for the environment than just letting your body decompose naturally Natural burials need to be made more readily available
They take up so much space though.
Probably still worse for the environment than just letting your body decompose naturally Natural burials need to be made more readily available
We were turning people to ashes for a long time, this is the only time I've heard of them actually using the surplus heat to actually produce energy
Actually, the whole "horrible zombie virus smoke cloud" thing from burning zombies came from Return of the Living Dead. That movie was also a comedy, whoever takes it seriously is a dumbfuck.
Of course it's ridiculous, comedy doesn't give a true-to-life representation of zombies such as horror or drama does. whoever defers the comedies for information on the ever-present zombie threat is dumbfuck.
If this option's available to me when I die, I'm gonna make sure my family does it. Harvest any usable organs 'n shit from me, then burn me for power. No sense wasting resources, it's not like I'm gonna be doing anything with it anyway.
I feel it should be pointed out that the burning corpses themselves are probably providing no more power than an asthmatic on a bike generator. It's all coming from the 1000*C gas furnace.
This idea is actually genius. All bodies should be disposed like this because it helps make the world greener and generate energy.
They take up so much space though.
That's why we have rivers!
Well, I guess this is a better choice than Holy Smoke (that was posted a few months back).
God if your entire perception of the world was based in sensationalist headlines, you'd think it was the apocalypse. Governments suppressing protests worldwide. Corporations patenting genes, getting pay outs from governments. Burning our dead for electricity.
Well, I guess this is a better choice than Holy Smoke (that was posted a few months back).
Make bullet out of someones ashes, shoot yourself with that, have yourself cremated, have someone shoot himself with that bullet, etc.
i swear there was this same thing in farenheit 451
Why do people assume it is unethical? They are going to burn anyway why not help out with some energy for those living? After they take my organs and whatever else they want for science they can burn the rest (or bury it in a mushroom suit), might as well keep the lights on doing so.
I hope it's not like Auschwitz and the ashes just fall amongst the countryside making it look like snow.
Auschwitz could have generated alot of electricity.
I live within "County Durham", I like the idea - After all it's just waste "exhaust" gasses. :v:
You knew where the joke came from at least.
That movie was good.
Actually, the whole "horrible zombie virus smoke cloud" thing from burning zombies came from Return of the Living Dead. That movie was also a comedy, whoever takes it seriously is a dumbfuck.
It didn't even come from that, It was a gas in ROTLD, The whole "smoke cloud" was the rain, as the toxin seeped into the groundwater and then somehow came back as rain IDK the creators did NOT care for physics or science
Ghost electricity. I'm ready for this.
