• Burning deceased humans will produce electricity

This is smart because when hospitals are out of corpses then all the hospital instruments will stop working, creating more corpses.
Why do people assume it is unethical? They are going to burn anyway why not help out with some energy for those living? After they take my organs and whatever else they want for science they can burn the rest (or bury it in a mushroom suit), might as well keep the lights on doing so.
You know how sacred people treat the body, for whatever reason.
i swear there was this same thing in farenheit 451
Farenheit 451 was about burning books I think you mean Brave New World where the World State collected the ashes of dead people and used it as fertilizer.
someone explain to me how human bodies are expected to burn like tinderwood? we're 70% water, and i don't think humans are very combustible.
Water will burn in a fluorine environment (oxygen isn't actually necessary for a fire, school and the fire triangle lied to me!), so... just put the corpses in a contained fluorine atmosphere and BAM, 100% burned human! Although, the downside there is that it'd probably take more energy to get the fluorine than you'd end up getting from the burning.
"Footy's on!" "Bring out yer dead!"
I hope it's not like Auschwitz and the ashes just fall amongst the countryside making it look like snow.
Mmm, tastes like Slim Jims and cigarette butts.
No way in hell will they burn my body just for some wattage. :v:

Title for deceiving haha, the crematorium is just installing turbines into their ovens to produce electricity, it's not like they're just taking humans and burning them for electricity.
God if your entire perception of the world was based in sensationalist headlines, you'd think it was the apocalypse. Governments suppressing protests worldwide. Corporations patenting genes, getting pay outs from governments. Burning our dead for electricity.
Yeah, but it's not burning our dead for electricity, it's merely using the energy left over from the heat to provide some.
My computer runs on human energy!
Oh yeah well my computer runs on dinosaurs.
Mmm, tastes like Slim Jims and cigarette butts.
Hey it's snowing! "in mid summer?" Wait that's not snow!
i swear there was this same thing in farenheit 451
Nope. Brave New World.
Burning corpses for electricity? That sounds, so, EVIL. Like something an Evil Genius would do.
Finally, I can power my computer on dead grannies.
someone explain to me how human bodies are expected to burn like tinderwood? we're 70% water, and i don't think humans are very combustible.
lots of fat burns for a while
I wonder how we could use the body itself? Maybe separate out fats and oils to burn as fuel for generators? I know a lot of people would have a problem with that but I think the bigger problem is just burying the body like trash, it is wasteful and in my opinion there is greater symbolism in the use of the body to help the living.
In before "if you state that you wish to be cremated and used for energy when you die, energy companies will pay doctors to put less effort into saving you when you come to the hospital with a severe condition" I mean, this kind of conspiracy hypothesis already exists with organ donors.

Cremation isn't very great for the earth anyway so I suppose this is good.
Eeeh, I wouldn't want it done to me. I'd rather be buried when I die.
Eeeh, I wouldn't want it done to me. I'd rather be buried when I die.
Why? Not like you would notice.
I really don't care what happens to my body when I'm dead. Because I'll be dead...
someone explain to me how human bodies are expected to burn like tinderwood? we're 70% water, and i don't think humans are very combustible.
I can't believe that you're serious.
No thanks, I'm not going to feel great knowing that a corpse is delivering electricity to my house.
No thanks, I'm not going to feel great knowing that a corpse is delivering electricity to my house.
Why not? They'd be burned anyway, if they chose cremation. What's wrong with using that energy, as opposed to wasting it? In the end, it's just water turning to steam and spinning a turbine, not their body.
No thanks, I'm not going to feel great knowing that a corpse is delivering electricity to my house.
You'd rather think a corpse is being burnt and that ash is floating in the air, contaminating it, and you can breathe burnt corpse if you're close enough, right?
Is it cremation process?...... sorry.... confuse...
This is how it always starts. This week they start burning the already dead and siphoning the energy, next week they are going around at night in hearses killing hobos and burning them to keep the bills down. In a month there will be nothing left but the funeral homes.
Cool. Hope it will be actually used.
