They should get either Anonymous, 4chan, or SA on this fellow's case. One of the three (if they aren't amused enough by this fellow's antics) could summon up enough manpower to stop the guy or at least get his personal information to the police.

4chan's stopped suicide attempts before, or attempted to do so. SA goons are pretty good at being internet detectives, and have uncovered some whoppers before, not least of which was the one recent incident where somebody lied about being a marine to other soldiers.
It's worth a shot IMO.

I'm aware of that, though I only use an account with archive status to read their LP section.
On the bright side, it appears that anything related to networking and security will be good fields to go into. I'm betting that you can make more with those professions than the medical field just because of society's growing dependence on privacy.
The funny thing is that there was a cop car sitting directly in front of my house yesterday around the time this all started.

I'll second this. If you're good, you can make any amount of money. Especially if you have your own hospital to run or if you're a good surgeon who can do, say, a half dozen surgeries daily.
Mediocre physicians start off well but later drop off compared to the good ones.

It's actually very possible to cripple most TF functionality. Same can be said for CS:GO.
Both of these games also have a GC (GC = game coordinator, in a nutshell, it manages inventory items for people and makes matches, and keeps track of who's abandoned the more serious of matches). If the GC goes down, TF2 would revert to a 2007-like state with no custom items, and CS:GO would be mostly crippled, but in terms of items, just no skins or StatTrak items.
Dota 2's GC on the other hand is pretty much the entire game, so if that goes down, the whole game in a sense is pretty much down (nobody can even find matches or even make a LAN match, you won't be able to watch replays, matches that were already in progress that just finished won't register as finished until the GC comes back up).
It's why some enthusiast TF and CS:GO interests were warned to the possibility of their GCs going down at any point last night due to this.
