hopefully this whole thing gets sorted out, preventing people from getting married just because 2 people love each other is dumb
Damn Mormons
Shitty government and homophobia goes a lot further than the Mormon Church my friend.
Cause that's gay?!!! Let's all marry anime and pokemon its the only way
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/0zTX73T.jpg[/thumb] I rest my case.
That's really immature, might as well shut down the whole state if you don't get your way right?
Seems to be the popular tactic this year
We must exterminate all Avians immediately.
But Avians are the best race, they have sky pirates in gigantic wooden ships that sell guns.
I misread the topic and thought it said that they closed down in protest because gay marriage wasn't allowed and I thought that was nice until I stopped being dyslexic.
Edit: I completely misread the entire article. Whoops.
I mean technically it's equality because in certain counties nobody is allowed to get married. we did it guys
Wow what a bunch of children.
I misread the topic and thought it said that they closed down in protest because gay marriage wasn't allowed and I thought that was nice until I stopped being dyslexic.
I read that at first too. I was really confused because it was Utah, but then I reread it a couple times and went "Oh."
Oh God, I live in Utah. When I went out last night I heard someone overtalking at outback about how the government is probably being influenced by gay liberals to tear down the church(?????????). Utah! People working together Utah! What a great place to be. Blessed from Heaven above. It's the land that we love. This is the place! Utah! With its mountains and valleys. Utah! With its canyons and streams. You can go anywhere. But there's none that compare. This is the place! It was Brigham Young who led the pioneers across the plains. They suffered with the trials they had to face. With faith they kept on going till they reached the Great Salt Lake Here they heard the words..."THIS IS THE PLACE!" Utah! With its focus on family, Utah! Helps each child to succeed. People care how they live. Each has so much to give. This is the place! Utah! Getting bigger and better. Utah! Always leading the way. New technology's here... Growing faster each year. This is the place! There is beauty in the snow-capped mountains, in the lakes and streams. There are valleys filled with farms and orchards too. The spirit of its people shows in everything they do. Utah is the place where dreams come true. Utah! With its pioneer spirit. Utah! What a great legacy! Blessed from Heaven above. It's the land that we love. This is the place Utah! Utah! Utah! THIS IS THE PLACE!
I am curious, could a homosexual couple just travel to another US state, marry there and return to their home?
I am curious, could a homosexual couple just travel to another US state, marry there and return to their home?
As far as I remember, the marriage won't be acknowledged by their home state as they don't want to deal with gay marriage, blocking the couple from receiving any benefits the state may offer for married couples. Which is shit.
cant you just ride out into the next county anyway?

It's still a massive pain in the ass for absolutely no reason other than people being children, but they can still get married.

Still, massively inconveniencing to have to move.
Ah yeah true, this isn't really a state wide thing is it. Still, massively inconveniencing to have to move.
Not to mention the joy of finding out just how little your neighbors regard your lifestyle. I'm from Texas and there was always some dope ready to come down on me for whatever reason, but at least the people in power in the community had the sense to act like responsible adults when sorting out right from wrong. I can only imagine the sinking feeling of knowing the folks in charge of your home town don't regard you as an equal or deserve the same rights as everyone else. I really hope this gets fixed in a way that doesn't leave everyone pissed off. (probably too late for that, though.)
A bunch of schools in my state did this when segregation was found illegal. It's so sad the lengths people will go to to deny others rights
They denied marriage licences? Schools do that now?
I just don't understand the harm of allowing gay marriage, is it gonna kill them if they say "Fine, it's legal now"? God damn, it's stupid as shit, especially when they do it for their religious values, which is even worse.

Rip Utah a new one, Judge Shelby!
Its nice to know that there are government staff that are less mature than kindergarteners.
I apologize on behalf of my state.
