Except for ya know, the lives lost in the blast, the animals dying from the oil.
Well yeah, but the gulf can easily be cleaned up if enough effort is put into it.
Holy shit 3 months. How can you be so incompetent?
It's not over yet. They still gotta hook another well up. But I'm not sure if that's gonna go through since they've been banned from off-shore drilling.
Holy shit 3 months. How can you be so incompetent?
Welcome to the legal world of red tape, may I take your coat?
All damage done is reversible.
No.
In less than a month it's going to blow from increased pressure. I'm telling you, a hefty application of Mighty Putty would have fixed this whole mess from the start.
Well done, BP.
His post smacks of sarcasm to me Anyway, this is good news.
It was.
No.
There's a word in that title: 'May be'. That doesn't mean for sure, and generally journalists make news biased to spread opinionated hate against BP because they're probably being backed some other oil companies, though now I could just be wildly speculating.
It's about time they close this thing. But the gulf is still ruined.
Its not irreversible, it will be fine soon
Soon as in 6 months to 1 year.
It took them 85 and 1/2 days just to put a cork in it?
Fucking finally.
It took them 85 and 1/2 days just to put a cork in it?
:suicide:
They worked fast and safe.
It took them 85 and 1/2 days just to put a cork in it?
I'd like to see you honestly try. They have to make sure that it doesn't pressure the oil well too quickly before they manage to shut it off completely with the correct equipment. You don't want one of those oil pipes blowing whilst you're trying to fill it with concrete.
They worked fast and safe.
tell that to all the southern farmers who got corexit in their crops
About fucking time.
There's a word in that title: 'May be'. We still haven't even fully recovered from the Valdez oil spill of '89 and that was tiny compared to this.
April BP: How the hell are we going to fix this? May BP: Still thinking, no ideas yet... June BP: We need the government's help Government: We don't know what to do either July BP: Guys, I have this great idea! Let's put a fucking cap on it! It's brilliant! It took them 3 months just to try putting a cap on it. They could've done that before they fucked over the gulf.
Holy shit 3 months. How can you be so incompetent?
It's not like it's at the bottom of a bath tub, you know. It is 13,000ft down.
tell that to all the southern farmers who got corexit in their crops
Southern farmers just poured oil all over the place to get some money. What a bunch of dicks, or perhaps the monster truck tipped or something. It's not like the entire gulf is filled with oil.

Congrats BP, it's only a major environmental catastrophy now. Well done. :downsbravo:
It's not like it's at the bottom of a bath tub, you know. It is 13,000ft down.
Exactly, it's fairly difficult to get shit done down there.
Southern farmers just poured oil all over the place to get some money. What a bunch of dicks, or perhaps the monster truck tipped or something. It's not like the entire gulf is filled with oil.
what
I haven't really been paying attention to the actual impact on the coast, all I heard was how bad it was going to be, but what is the actual damage right now?
I haven't really been paying attention to the actual impact on the coast, all I heard was how bad it was going to be, but what is the actual damage right now?
It's not all bad, oil's just got up some rivers and damaged some agricultural land and covered a few birds, of course though the rivers and swamps are really filthy right now, but if people are so concerned about their beautiful land, they should get off their arses and clear it all up instead of just sitting there and blaming it on Obama, socialists and the English.
By Stopped they mean Siphoning off without leaking any in the process, and it'll last only until they decide what they are siphoning isn't enough and they change it, yet again
