I think that quote is fine, but the more delusional is him thinking that the video games are far less successful than his books... which is BEYOND deluded. Just read this, all of it, because he's delusional. The games are far more succesful. Most people who have actually played the witcher probably would not know that it's based on a book series. I was one of them even finishing The Witcher 2.
Uh buddy, just because you're ignorant doesn't make you a representation of the general fanbase lol
covers are often completely out of the author's control tho
yeah exactly why he complained about it. that's what i'm talking about
It wasn't nice for me on the conventions, when fans picked up my books, looked on the covers, and put them down with contempt. Game related. Games don't interest us, we would rather buy something original

He is just an old guy who wrote some nice fantasy books and then he saw a (brilliant) game studio pick it up and turn it into a global phenomen and become rich, cut him some slack
Nah, he legitimately just doesn't like the way the source material has been treated. If he'd only been saying this after Witcher 3 released I'd be inclined to agree, but he's been saying this since the Witcher 1 came out when it wasn't a global phenomenon and hardly anyone outside of Poland played it. The problem is the stories ended with a pretty definitive ending [sp]the main characters dying including Gerry Witchman[/sp] and the games act as sequels to that [sp]bringing them back to life[/sp] instead of just using an alternate timeline.
i can understand where he's coming from with his complaints though. his book covers are literally witcher 2 art there isn't even a dragon in this book
All the US covers and some recent editions of the original Polish have scenes and characters that don't appear in that particualar book. Furthermore, some characters on these covers are characters that were invented for the games and don't appear in any book at all.
Iirc he doesn't get royalties from the game
He specifically asked for an up front payment if I remember right.
