Don't particularly agree with you on the 'game on its own' part, but that's just what I think.
Screens look meh at best, but oh well, I've never really been one to buy a game just by looking at pictures that may or may not have been taken in-game.
have to assume the low res textures are because they're 360 or ps3 screenshots.
if i was a company, i'd release screenshots showcasing how the game would look at it's very best.
