Has the Time Finally Come? Kingdom Hearts May Finally be Heading to Consoles Once Again - Polidicks

If they do make a 3rd game for consoles, I'd be great if they released it on X-Box 360 as well as PS3. I don't own a PS3 sadly. :( I'd be okay if it was for PS2. Seriously.

I remember, back in '04, after having recently beaten KHII thinking "It's nice to have a JRPG that isn't a stereotypical jumble of spinoffs." Then it became a stereotypical JRPG with a jumble of spinoffs. Frankly the sheer number of crap you have to have played to keep up with the storyline was extremely off-putting.

The KH fans can be rather eccentric. I loved the first game, I didn't really get into the second one though.

I will admit, when the first game came out and the commercials appeared on TV every so often, I would often look at it and ask "who the fuck would make this? This is so fucking stupid." Then one day my uncle bought it for my for my birthday (not knowing much about games and he saw the ads quite a lot). I decided to try it just to see what it was like because I hadn't seen any gameplay. Holy mother of tits it was so much better than I expected. Sure the game is mostly weaboo, anime bright neon colored hair everywhere but the mix of Final Fantasy, Disney characters, I don't know how to explain it but they somehow made it work.

I'll be honest when I say I just want Kingdom Hearts III so I can finally see what happens with Kairi. I don't care what you guys say, I honestly want some closure in that regard. [img]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8416055/FacepunchEmots/Colbert.gif[/img]

Kingdom Hearts 3 seems to be some way off still, Square Enix is too busy pumping out a million versions of Final Fantasy XIII. I really like the KH series, just stay away from the fanbase.

It explains Chain of Memories well so that you don't need to play it to understand KH2 fully.

Wouldn't KH3 be a spinoff? Since it's supposed to take place before the events of the first game and might not include the main characters like Sora and stuff...

After Chain of Memories I didn't even bother with the handheld games, too many and not worth the effort. I mostly play stuff like Halo, GoW, STALKER, etc... Kingdom Hearts is the ONLY game that I play that has that stupid Japanese anime stuff all over it. I hate that stuff normally, but I've had so much fun playing I & II that I would happily buy the third...... I just might not tell my friends I'm playing it.......

First one was a great game, second was okay (only played though half though, got boring) The fanbase and spinoffs is what ruins it.

Thankfully 3D will have a Memoirs feature to help fill in players who missed the other games and all, but the story of the series is so damn convoluted by this point that having to read to make sense of most things probably won't help it either. As a fan of the series, even i'm scratching my head sometimes (I've even been emulating my sister's copies these past two weeks to do a playthrough of the first and second games again). Bloody hell, Nomura, what sort of seven different types of crack, heroine and other drugs do you take to of made something this tangled up under the guise of a Disney JRPG?

I know that it sounds terrible, but it's actually quite a good game. Somehow. :v:

The first game was a guilty pleasure for me. I loved the hell out of it but I didn't want anyone walking in on me playing it and I hated seeing the fans of it with their keyblade necklaces at school so I never talked about it with them or told people I played it unless they were close friends.

I personally found the combination pretty fun. You'd be dealing with typical, silly JRPG angst then get on a spaceship for an arcade style minigame before ending up chasing Pete in a Steamboat Mickey themed world. I hope they have a combat style like in Birth by Sleep.
