Discovery Terminates Relationship With 'Man vs. Wild' Star Bear Grylls

survivorman might be realistic or whatever but it wasn't fun to watch
like
you're watching a guy walking around holding a camera and teaching you how to climb shit
It's interesting for a few episodes then it gets boring, manvswild ftw
I get how mvw is staged because I've read the fucking wiki article where he says it is staged, but it's still way more fun to watch
Also I haven't seen Mythbusters since like, they rebuilt Buster with all that new pink shit, how is it nowadays?

Quoted because big image.
Survivorman had more in depth detail on actual survival, but Man vs. Wild had more action.
M v W is fake, thats why

Bear Grills pisses me off. He just seems so arrogant. Les Stroud on the other hand, seems like he'd be an awesome guy to chill with.

Also, Mythbusters is still p. sweet.

yeah there's totally no bias in that at all
if you researched bear grylls' background you'd see that he's so much more hardcore than les stroud
I somewhat knew making this thread would start a mvw vs survivorman debate.
would be better if they completely threw out the survival documentary part and just made it to where every episode, he drinks a fuckton of piss, then fights a large animal with a sharp stick
I'd watch it
Survivorman did a episode on the Sierra Nevada Mountains (where I live), which was really cool. And it was actually full of stuff that was true, which was cool.
ray mears is king
ray mears is king
I dunno. Les Stroud plays a mean blues harmonica.
I loved when Bear obtained water by wringing a huge chunk of elephant shit's moisture into his mouth.
My favorite moment is probably when he beat a snake to death with a large stick in the middle of a desert. Runner-up is when he was sleeping in a pile of snow, and to keep warm, he pissed in his canteen and held it close to him while he slept.
I don't care how much of this show was staged, it was still very enjoyable.
to be honest it gave stupid tips that you should NEVER do in the real wilds, no situation calls for it.
Instead of teaching you how to get down a hill safely by making really sturdy rope and eat wildlife and plants, it teaches you to jump down and eat bear shit and bugs and rotted brains instead
the hell kind of tips are THAT? It's still fun, but Jesus
You watch Ray Mears if you want bushcraft and you watch Bear Grylls if you want to see a guy eat his own shit.
Finally!

Bear Grylls was in the SAS for several years. I don't know much about Les Stroud, but whichever way you cut it, only badasses are let in the SAS.

doesn't change the fact that his show is bullshit, and les stroud actually is out there surviving, as opposed to sleeping in hotels and drinking piss
I'm sure some other channel will sponsor him
He's too big and too much of an icon to just fade away

Uh no, he was in the SAS for three years then he had his accident

I didn't know the exact number. Either way, you don't get let in for playing cards.
Well put.
I wonder if Bear posts on Fetlife.
Surviving on your own piss (everything to do with it)
At the beggining on MvW it says it is staged in a disclaimer I recall. The survivormsn vs. MvW discussion is silly because survivorman is the guy actually surviving while the point of MvW is to tell you what to do if you get lost.
No. NO. NOOOOOO.
MvW is not instructional in any capacity. Doing what he does is fucking retarded.
Rule number fucking one of getting lost in the wilderness is DO NOT TRY TO WALK OUT UNLESS IT IS YOUR ONLY OPTION.
Find somewhere with good visibility and good food sources, and park your ass. Even if you plan on walking out, you park your ass and gather the necessary supplies to do so.
At NO TIME do you listen to that fuckwad, Bear. He is a fan of extreme sports, and that is what he is doing on his show. He isn't about survival. Arguably he is about intentionally bringing yourself as close to the edge as possible.
Do not listen to him. He is dangerous and irresponsible.
But Bear, you were going to shoot more episodes here in Norway :(
Good riddance, now please invest on something decent.
survivorman > man vs wild
Commentary wise, bear grylls is generally, a better host, but if you're looking for actual survival, survivorman is better in that regard.
Bear is a joke, this is good news.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo.
