This
They're gonna get shot
It will be funny if they fire any shots.
And hit Obama
Because the only part of the constitution that matters is the second amendment :911:
Oooh, a few people have guns. They'll seriously cause considerable damage.
They aren't working with the Tea Party. I am sick and tired of people with legitimate views being lumped into the same category as a bunch of violent rednecks.
right, these people are praising Tim McVeigh lol
and yes, they are tea party people and no, the tea party people don't have legitimate views.
No, the Republican Party started out great, probably better than the Democratic Party which was largely corrupt.
Remember Abraham Lincoln? Yeah, he was a Republican.
[editline]10:50AM[/editline]
Wait, the guy said that he's
I thought that was leftist territory?
Lincoln was a classic liberal. Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican, but a Progressive.
I am an extreme Libertarian/Anarchist.
There's your problem you silly sod.
Businesses are only oppressive when they get in bed with the state. Without the state making laws and regulations that allow corporations to exist in their present form, that give them exceptions under the law, limited liability, and personhood, and so long as politicians exist to be greased by politicians, business is tyrannical. Without the everpowerful apparatus of the corporatist state to support them, businesses cannot control us. They cannot force us to buy their products. McDonalds doesn't force me to eat their hamburgers; I eat them because I find them delicious, and the fact that they are so large and successful is only indicative that lots of people agree with me.
uh... please join reality again
Anarchy = no heirarchy. Somalia = chaos. Learn the difference between anomie and anarchy.
lol, how's that no state thing working out for you?
and you don't know what anomie means.
You know a large portion of the Tea Party consists of Libertarians and Independants who were just as angry during the Bush years, but didn't get any attention because Fox News didn't give it to them, right? Now that Obama is in office, Fox was more than happy to give coverage to a movement that could damage him. More than could be said for the other networks.
[editline]06:51AM[/editline]
Obama is a Christian if you consider Liberation Theology Christian. I do, but it is an extremely radical sect riven with Marxist ideas.
He's not a Liberation Theologian... what are you on?
[editline]06:50AM[/editline]
You realize that said businesses only exist in their current form because of state fiat?
And like I said, those kind of operations cannot exist without state fiat. There are special laws that allow them to exist. Companies only get powerful because people go there. If companies start fucking people over, they will stop going there and said company will lose their power.
The fact remains that unless that company sends men with guns to force me to buy their product, they have no power over me. Are you saying this is what is going to happen in a free market society?
How did walmart get so big in the first place? Competition is tough, but no one said freedom had to be fair. In fact you cannot have freedom and fairness or equality of outcome. The two are mutually exclusive
Libertarianism is based on the idea that you own yourself, and no one else has the right to impose their will on you. That is the golden rule. I'm not even going to argue this point any further with you. You are wrong.
Freedom requires constant vigilance. I'm not one of those people who wants freedom as means to ends such as wealth or safety. Freedom is the end.
[editline]08:26AM[/editline]
We've never once seen an Anarchistic or Libertarian society.
I guess you didn't read what I said clearly:
Recently we were ranked higher than the U.S in economic freedom by the Heritage institute. Assuming it's accurate, that's pretty cool.
Considering the Heritage society are chiefly concerned with economic freedom, I have no reason to distrust their analysis.
[editline]08:26AM[/editline]
Ignoring everything I say is a great debate tactic ;) keep it up.

Please, do not attempt politics, it's embarrassing on your part.

where do you get this fucking idea?/
[editline]06:53AM[/editline]
individual liberty
Conservatives are not for individual liberty. Not in any way shape or form.
I can't deal with you or people like you. I just want to be left alone, but you don't feel I should be. It almost brings tears to my eyes
then fucking move to Somalia, you'll love it there. Privatized military, no functioning government, zero taxes, etc. This should make you harder then rock.
[editline]06:58AM[/editline]
Yeah, except we're in debt, and Obama started handing out billions to corporations to give away as bonuses..
you do know they were punished for that, right?
but Glenn Beck won't tell you that

And the District of Columbia Air Guard and National Guards.

They are actually.
But from this thread I can tell most people think otherwise because they have no brain. God forbid people be angry at the moron for trying to destroy our country even more. This dumbass puppet is fucking more shit up that Bush could have ever fucked up. Not saying G-Dub was good. They are both big steaming piles of dog shit. Everybody seems to be on the disagree with the prez you're racist, you're a bigot, change is good bandwagon. Oh and god help you if you are a black tea party participant, you are a "traitor" according to news articles I have read. Not many people really see what he is doing. They just agree with what is popular, or the "TREND" it makes them hip and conforming to the norms. Most tea-party participants research this stuff and go to meetings to learn more about it. They are out there because they know what is really going on and don't buy into the rainbows and unicorns this idiot is promising.
So many people think this guy is great but wait till the tax increases and the health care bill goes in to effect. If you don't have health care from your work, you owe the government for health care even if you don't use it, if you don't pay, they garnish your paychecks, bank accounts, and can even seize your personal property. Reason is, instead of a collection agency coming after you that you can settle with, it will be the IRS(which they are hiring thousands of new IRS agents WOO! >:( ), and you don't fuck with the IRS. I also don't think there is an opt-out for it either. It's going to be like social security.
He's just doing so many things that are going to harm our way of life and how our country works. He is working on a bill that will give the secretary of the treasury(not sure if it is this person or another person but it is someone) full rights to take over a company if they think it is "too big to fail." They are trying to pass a bill making it so you cannot contest your tax return, or screw ups the IRS made. So lets say you were over taxed for 6 months. Well that's too bad. Can't do shit. He really wants to get rid of talk radio. They want to tax free radio. Why? Simple! To limit free speech in any way they can to keep people from seeing the truth, and so many people buy it right up like the brainless retards they are.
That is my view I would type more but this is Facepunch and discussing politics here never ends well.
The tin foil around your head got so big it draped down to your neck and is cutting off oxygen :c
If you actually had a job and paid taxes you'd know it's a lot more than 3 bucks a week. It's about 10% a week for me, and I don't even make that much. (And I don't even have my federal taxes withheld from me, which is like another 5%) I'd be below the poverty line. That means I only have 80-90% of what I should have. Do you think poor people need 10% of their income taken from them if they can barely afford to feed themselves? Should the wealthy pay extra just because they have more? No. There should be no federal taxes. State taxes are another issue that I don't want to go into, but states provide actual services like roads, schools, and police. All the Federal government does is pay for the army, Social Security, and Medicare pretty much.
It actually does. If the market was allowed to work as it was supposed to Goldman Sachs, AIG, et al would have been wiped off the face of the earth. But now that the government has resurrected them, they're free to screw up yet again and take even bigger risks knowing that if they lose they'll get another chance. If you were at a casino and you knew that even if you lost, you'd have your loses replenished by somebody else and you get to keep the winnings too, wouldn't you bet everything you had every time?
The market is supposed to destroy those who mess up. But both Bush and Obama wouldn't allow that. I could still argue that the market before the crash wasn't even a true free market; it was already regulated to hell.
lol, goldman sachs would have still prospered.
Conservatives are not for individual liberty. Not in any way shape or form.
then fucking move to Somalia, you'll love it there. Privatized military, no functioning government, zero taxes, etc. This should make you harder then rock.
Actually peoples have done studies on Somalia and Shit, and they have found out some interesting shit once you get past the whole OMFG ANARCHY, CHAOS, PIRACY, CIVIL WAR and actually take a look at the standard of living under prior Somali Governments and compare it to the Periods when the U.N. weren't fucking with shit and US Army Apaches weren't firing Rockets into a meeting of tribal elders.
www.peterleeson.com/Better_Off_Stateless.pdf
Also Somalia isn't completely without a government, I'm sure you may have heard about Somaliland, where they have set up a Stable Government which is doing pretty good considering nobody recognizes them since everyone threw their weight on the backs of the artificial government set up which pretty much Collapsed.
Meanwhile, Piracy, as we all know, this is a undeniable result of Anarchy, with no coast guard to enforce fishing rights, this led to Somali Fishermen to arm them selves and take on the people encroaching on their fish, well long story short, Somalis end up with a bunch of boats and all the fish is now gone, they are stuck with their dick in one hand and a AK in the other, and the look out and see these Big Ships on the Horizon...
The fact it's a mess of a third world country kinda denotes most of that.
and Somalia was better off stateless...
except that's not saying much. Instead of being kicked in the crotch, you're being punched in the head. not very good odds
Oh, silly rednecks. You got the wrong marxist, unlawful and corrupt chief of state.
This is not your enemy

Both THEY'RE BOTH violent rednecks
"Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles & organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness." - Thomas Jefferson.
It applies here as well.
tl;dr
people have the right to protest whatever the hell they want.

I, too, can repeatedly paste irrelevant quotes from overly-idolized dead guys in an attempt to validate a bunch of angry conservatives as a legitimate revolution against tyranny.

but the current government is with the consent of the governed. that is what that whole "election" thing was about. And if the government loses the people's consent, then they'll vote differently in the 2010 elections

no one is saying they dont
i'm just criticizing the reasons they're protesting

not really. the tea party protesters are crying over nothing.
I don't think the fact that Congress is fucking over the constitution is nothing.
If anything they should be bitching about Congress because they are the stupid motherfuckers. Obama is just sort of standing around twiddling his thumbs while Congress is fucking over the country.
It wouldn't be any better with the Republicans either.
Either way, we're fucked.
