GG Christianity. You had a good run.
Look what you did
now this thread will be a religious debate, rather than a thread on the awesome hardon collider
The data is going to destroy the world.
I hope the LHC will bring fusion reactors to mankind in the future
Awesome, that's pretty fucking cool. The religious kid in my class had a fight with my teacher about the big bang. He yelled at her and almost got her fired for not respecting religion. I'll kick his face in with this.

Thanks to the large hardon collider we can now prove the big bang. Theirs no need for religion anymore. Therefore nothing to debate.

At least we sent religion out with a Bang!
No but seriously shut up you will cause issues, lets rejoice and keep religion out of this.

How on Earth did you manage to relate smashing ions and religion together?

I'm sorry but no, just no.

That's why I was excited about them finally starting the LHC up.
Is it just me or is science progressing faster and faster each day?
Its the Technological Singularity. I quite adamantly hold to this theory.

How does a particle accelerator relate to religion?
How does a particle accelerator relate to religion?
He's getting at the creation of the Universe wasn't created by God, due to the now fact that it is possible to create a universe by smashing two particles together.
I'm not saying I agree with it, I think that religion should stay out of science topics and the other way around.
Doesn't mean he had to bring it up.

The only people that proves wrong are creationists, not religion as a whole.
Plus this test has only simulated the big bang, not proved it's existence, not to say it isn't the most viable idea out there on the subject.
Congratulations to the people working at the LHC, history has been made.

Even if this were proof that religion is wrong (It's not), people don't give up their personal beliefs like that- even if there's almost guaranteed physical evidence that said beliefs are wrong.
GG Christianity. You had a good run.
Yeah we get it. You're an elitist atheist and you want the whole world to know. Can we stop this shit already?
Even if this were proof that religion is wrong (It's not), people don't give up their personal beliefs like that- even if there's almost guaranteed physical evidence that said beliefs are wrong.
Well religion is about faith anyway so as long as everything in the Bible hasn't been disproved then people will still believe.
Personally, I think it is their right to, anyway. Doesn't hurt me in any way.

If you want to get technical, history is made everyday.
:smug:
It could be. Keep in mind that the area this temperature would cover would be incredibly tiny and wouldn't come anywhere close to the energy stored in the centre of the sun.
The CERN website says it's 100000 times as hot as the sun not a million but that's with protons I don't know about ions.
I guess colliding so many hardons at once gets pretty hot. :smug:

If you want to get technical, everything you experience is history

God made it work.
The hardon collider?
Colliding boners at .8c?
What is the best caliber round for the beginning of everything?
Keep it up Science, you amazing fool.
We all died and are now in hell. Nothing different
What!? I thought nothing happened! Nooooooooooo!!!
