since when is the opinions of random people on twitter news
Well Gamespot is a pretty major gaming website for both portions of the hardcore and mainstream gaming audience. If there's such a massive difference between PS4 and XbOne interest it's at the very least telling of how poorly the Xbox reveal went. Microsoft's got some damage control to do.

I'm laughing at everyone who tried to argue that the Xbox wasn't going to bomb so hard right now

HOWEVER, that doesn't excuse the multitude of other problems that were introduced and Microsoft's continuing vagueness isn't helping the situation. Microsoft needs to clear the air about the following, and they need to do so ASAP if they want to get some goodwill back before E3: - What are the rules regarding the requirements of an internet connection? Is it every 24 hours for validation or is it something different? - What features will be locked out to people without an internet connection or outside of the USA? - What's the deal with the revamped Xbox Live? Are they still going to make customers pay for services that should be free? - What's the plan for used games? No marketing bullshit, tell us specifically. - What's the deal with Kinect 2.0? Why does it always have to be on? Can we use controller input to navigate the menu? What happens if the Kinect breaks but the Xbox is fine? What size room do people need? - How many games can fit on the 500gb hard drive before people will need to purchase extra space? - How is the 'cloud' going to work? - Was the on-stage demo real or was it faked? And those are just a few of the questions that need to be taken care of. That reveal might not have intended to focus on the games, but what they DID show has plenty of problems of its own. Even so, it'd be nice if they could justify why they only used pre-rendered videos to demonstrate the few games they did show.
This really shows just how stupid we as a community are. The press conference as just here is the next Xbox and the things it can do. Also here are 15 new games, with E3 right around the corner why would they blow their load now? It really is no wonder why game publishers and other media look down at us.
Well questions like these wouldn't appear to be huge problems if the terrible journalism culture didn't capitalize on sensationalizing things before they're even discussed.
Sensationalist journalism or not, those are all important questions and they're ones that Microsoft shouldn't be dodging. They gave themselves an extra month to respond to Sony's PS4 launch, yet they can't even answer basic stuff like how used games are going to work in a simple and direct way? Right or wrong, I don't think "We're not ready to discuss specifics" is going to cut it with people demanding answers to these questions.
they don't owe anyone any immediate answers. they can do what they want in their own way in their own time. the desires of consumers and the media are irrelevant and only show how childish everyone gets over console development.

I can fully appreciate leaving less important details for later in the runup to the console's launch (gotta have something to talk about), but things like the internet connection requirements and used games are pretty damn major.
No, I'm saying that it is childish to be demanding of someone who doesn't owe you anything and already plans to tell you when they're ready. People just get so caught up in the stupid console war that they feel entitled. This is why the game industry is shit people

No, I wouldn't hold my breath on that until the fires of outrage of gamers cool for a bit. They probably won't release the info on these topics until at least next month.
it wouldnt have even been a disaster if people weren't being such god damn idiots jumping to conclusions about things. i actually liked their presentation and, cautiously, look forward to their next announcements.
it wouldnt have even been a disaster if people weren't being such god damn idiots jumping to conclusions about things. i actually liked their presentation and, cautiously, look forward to their next announcements.
I agree with you, I had nothing really negative to say about the performance and I am waiting to reserve judgement on their gamer priorities until at least E3. Hell, I might not even decide until both consoles have been released because we won't know how either performs until they are released.
it wouldnt have even been a disaster if people weren't being such god damn idiots jumping to conclusions about things. i actually liked their presentation and, cautiously, look forward to their next announcements.
In the interest of fairness, Microsoft isn't doing themselves any favors by constantly putting their foot in their mouths. Given how important some of these issues are (issues that were brought up in discussion even before the Playstation 4 reveal), the fact that Microsoft doesn't have a direct answer a full 3 months after THAT is the wrong way to handle it. For example, on the issue of used games, if Microsoft were to flat-out say "Of course we won't be restricting those," I can guarantee you that reception on the XBone would be more positive right now.
@Evilan Truth, and even then it takes a few years before devs really get the most power out of the systems. I just hope that developers stop having their pants on their heads with the Wii U, and realize its capabilities as a gpgpu, not cpu, based console.

Heard you need to be connected for one day, then the week is okay. But it might be every 24 hours. 2. Betting half of the features. 3. Most likely yes. 4. They might charge a fee for used games(from $10 to the whole cost of the game you bought used), but heard there is no fee. 5. No idea, didn't really care for Kinect 2.0, but MS will probably give some bullshit answer at E3. 6. Who knows, Blu-Ray gives 50GB, and apparently you can't replace the HDD. Last two questions I can't really answer.

Microsoft have to deal with these questions and not just leave it to speculation, because it's these questions that can turn the competition around.

Not the games, while they could have saved a massive shitstorm if they clearly said/announced in the show that its only going to be about the console and the games would be at E3.

While the PS4 is looking a lot better than the Xbox One honestly I don't think either look good enough for me yet to switch from PC to any of them. It's not a PC fanboy thing it's just a matter of money, I'd rather upgrade my current PC if I did have the money cause that'd feel more worthwhile.

Seriously? Was anybody really surprised after recent events with the Xbox Ones release?
I hope I can get a ps4 and install windows on it or some crazy shit. Use a mouse and keyboard. I would have two computers then :v:

Honestly, in the end the price and games will matter more than any of this votes. I'd still put my money on the xbox winning in the US and going toe to toe with the ps4 in europe. Right now, a lot of these things remind me more of boycott modern warfare 2.
they already know how to design a good gaming console
really are you sure about that
But the PS4 has no games.
