Stand Down Dodge and Chevy, Ford Has The Fastest Police Car

IMHO, handling when it comes to a cop car is probably a lot more important, same with a really strong bumper, and being able to take a beating.
This is assuming it's a GTA tier (worst case scenario) car chase.
The UK doesn't enforce its vandalism laws very well does it?
That was designed and outfitted for the British police by Lamborghini themselves, although sadly it was just for PR...
I am not. And the last I saw, MSP still has gumdrop lights on all their cars.. is that still true, or do they now have actual lightbars
Yeah but most of the ones around me are scary as fuck looking dodge chargers.
They do 0-60 in better times and we don't need huge 6L engines to drink masses of petrol while they're on patrol. They might not be able to ram cars off the road as easy or take as much of a beating though i guess.
They are reserved only for motorway police as far as I know.
I think the new car is the BMW 5 series or 3 i'm not sure, Birmingham police has a metric ton of them in the yard all the time.

we dont need to ram people off the road
we can get people to stop without being brutes

and yes they are mainly pursuit vehicles
Still think the ol' crown vics are classy as hell though.
Yeah these are nice though.

I'm fairly sure the Taurus handles as good, if not better than the Crown Vic. I'm sure AWD will be a huge advantage in the winter though.
unmarked blacked out crown vic best police vehicle all time
I know what I'm buying when I join the force.
Aww, a itty bitty babby V6 has beaten those brutish V8 in usefulness and cost effectiveness, all with the help of turbocharging technology.
the car itself looks pretty good, but the yellow and blue on the side kind of ruins it for me.
Those are reflective.
They're there for visibility and so even the dumbest retard can recognise it as a police vehicle no matter the light conditions.
SO their usefulness FAR outweights the questionable visual design.

We have these beasts in Australia, Ford GTs - XR8/6 (turbo) and their holden equivilents for highway patrol.

These things fly once they're tuned properly.

If those are the 2.0L turbo trust me they will chug petrol like a motherfucker. I'm guessing they're only the 260/280 hp versions though, going full blast you're lucky to get more than 15 mpg. the 400 HP evo gets 4 MPG being pushed flat out
Boyo pls.

Can't beat an E39.

It's not that we don't need to ram people off the road, there are just very few circumstances where contact is actually allowed, it gets called in a fair bit but the pursuit controllers usually say no due to the dangers involved and the potential damage it'd do. A lot of the time the chases are still brought to a stop 'safely' because a lot of drivers do have a cut off point between escaping the police and putting innocent bystanders/ themselves and even the police at risk. Most of the time a driver that shows no regard for their own life stands a good chance of getting away if they can push the cops that far. Generally speaking of course.

For City patrol in Brisbane, we have Aurions, the newer ones do 0-100KPH in 6.1-6.5, while getting 9.1L/100k.
They're quite quick for city cars.
Chargers are still the best looking police cars.
Police dont "chase" people, they just follow... waiting for them to hurt themselves.
It's actually the checkers that's the best part for me.
The checkers have a more practical application. Depending on the positioning of the vehicle it can appear more visible to approaching cars while protecting that scene.
I still think the Chargers are the best looking. The locals here are rolling out the 2013s with a new decal job:

The university here uses the Taurus with a really nice decal job, which is a good all-rounder:

And then, you have the Caprice PPV, which my hometown got right before I decided to move...

Looks like something from Daewoo.
Los Angeles got a a whole bunch of these a while ago. They look pretty cool when they're zooming down a street speeding off to where they need to go. It's kinda sad in a way to see all the crown vics being slowly phased out.
The new Ford Taurus's are sexy. I like the sleek look.
My current city has 3 2012 Ford Taurus's .
Nothing beats the classic Crown Victoria.
It looks like they got some CEO's aspiring graphic designer kid to do the designs.
US probably has the best paint jobs for a police car, simple and nice. While other countries just look fucking hideous, with all the fucking checkered paint and everything.
I still drive a 2007 CVPI until it hits the mile marker to get a new one, but I got to test the Tauruses before we bought them.
The first thing I liked about it was the seat, column shifter, and steering wheel. The rear seating seems smaller but thats not my problem.
We did some 'testing' (aka, ran them to hell and back) at night where there was no traffic on highways/streets.. there wasnt a night where the car didnt smell of brake pads and antifreeze and oil while testing them. The AWD is the big dealmaker
They're awesome. If you can get a Taurus SHO you'll have a fucking blast.
Do you guys dyno your cars? The street SHO is supposed to make ~365hp and ~400tq, but i'd imagine the police interceptor is beefed up.
