The devs are like vaginas Massive cunts
why are we praising valve for removing this, they shouldn't have approved it in the first place
After a developer has one game approves on steam, I believe, additional games do not need to be approved in the same manner.
Yes it was bad of them putting it up in the first place, but it is nice too see that gaben still listens to his fans
Ah... The sweet smell of justice!
why are we praising valve for removing this, they shouldn't have approved it in the first place
Making mistakes is fine, everyone does it, what makes you good or bad is whether you admit to and correct them later or not
It took one day for valve to respond to something like this, I would be "hell yea winner man" for every platform that would listen to their customers so quick.
It's like what the Andrea Moda team did in the Formula One, it is equally farcical. Hell, there are actions that are pretty well the same. F1 Team ran of the ruins of an almost equally unsucessful team, tried to pass it off as new, didn't work at all, became the laughterstock of the sport, the drivers got royally screwed, and the teamboss/manager was only in for the money and fame, and acted like an arse against their drivers. Team got officialy banned at the Belgian GP, and the teamboss was arrested for fraud. Game runs on an unsucessful game, and tries to pass it of as new, it is badly working, is becoming the laughterstock of the industry, the playerbase is getting royally screwed, and the developers only seem to be in for the money and act like arses. Game gets banned from Steam. Only thing lacking is Sergei, or the developer's team getting arrested for fraud. See what I am getting here? And a edited, but fitting quote for the state of WarZ: "... game making should really be left to game making people, people who have a vague idea ... what they are doing."
why are we praising valve for removing this, they shouldn't have approved it in the first place
This whole "approved by community" greenlight thing is new for them too. We are cheering them for drawing the right conclusions.
This whole "approved by community" greenlight thing is new for them too. We are cheering them for drawing the right conclusions.
It wasn't approved through greenlight though
Well, I'll give praise for Valve to do it, but this should in no way have been on Steam in the first place, and Valve should especially make sure that there's no false advertising. Valve fucked up on this one, it's a fact.
Good on you, Valve.
at least they're willing to put an end to the trainwreck
but the trainwreck could've been prevented, so i really don't think valve deserves the praise
I've seen this coming since over a month ago.
You mean when the War Z mod that did his tell all? We didn't have the evidence we have now to release he wasn't BSing us.
In my opinion warz isn't that bad of a game. The developers are complete money grabbing ass hats but the game is good. They do a lot of community polling to see what the people want and they usually do what they ask. It can take them an ass load of time to do but they eventually do. Compare this to dayz where the developer doesn't listen to anything the community wants him to do because he considers it his creation. There are many hackers on both games though many hacks no longer work, it took warz much less time to get rid of them. I think the developers of warz just care too much about the game. They want it to be great and say things about it that arnt true because they want people to love it. The problem is they are trying to force people to like it. The want their players to play it once and then them love it right away. But they don't understand that this can only work with with fully released games. Warz is in alpha and they want it treated like fucking tf2. People who played dayz understood it was a broken ass shit mod that needed a lot of work so they lowered their standards. Warzwants players standards raised even though its no where near complete. Anyways. Tl;dr: warz is a ok game when looked at from the level the developers should of set it at. They really want their game to be good but they are immature impatient and are under the evil spell of money. Hopefully this game works out. And hopefully most of the posters here have played the game before posting. Thank you for listening to my opinion regardless if you agree or not.
And where's those sales.
thank fucking god, how could they have ever put it up on steam in the first place
The dev already had a game on there, and thus didn't need a review before putting up another.
glorious gaben comes to save the day
"glorious gaben" shouldn't have let it happen in the first place.
Oh boy I can't wait to hear a response from the devs about this. I bet they are all going to be whiny cunts.
Sergey basically said 'its the customers fault for not reading properly, 'UP TO 100' players can mean 50, then the interviewer raped him by replying along the lines of 'if I bought a game that said "up to 100 players" then I'd expect 100 players, thats like saying a car you are selling goes up to 100mph but it can only go 50' To be honest this whole fiasco could have been partially avoided if they werent too cheap to get a rep that doesnt speak completely broken English and doesn't get extremely defensive and aggressive towards customers with concerns. If you read the whole interview with Sergey, you can see that the interviewer had to add in loads of words and correct his awful English.
But, their executive producer helped make this.
Did he really make that? I thought it was a joke because of how horrible this game is.
Did he really make that? I thought it was a joke because of how horrible this game is.
He didn't actually make it. He made the engine and licensed it to the dev though.
Valve could murder peoples mothers and people would still find a way to praise them for it. Followed by putting Gabe on some holy pedestal and make him out to be some sort of messiah. Not much is worse than Valve fanboyism.
Geez you're the most negative person on the forum. I don't think you understand that when people care for something, they focus on the best things in it. Obviously it was stupid that they put the game on Steam to start with, but why not be happy they realized the mistake and removed it again? Saying "not much is worse than Valve fanboyism" is bullshit tbh, just because people(especially FP) support the company. Crossed the line there.
but the trainwreck could've been prevented, so i really don't think valve deserves the praise
Considering they're actually admitting they fucked up and are issuing refunds is the next best thing. No-one is perfect, though you're one step closer if you admit that.

GRR I AM INCONVENIENCED FOR 2 DAYS CURSE YOU VALVE
I don't get why people are mad at Valve They made a mistake and now 2 days later they're fixing it. Seriously, what's the big deal here?
We don't even know exactly how they made it on to steam, one article mentioned that they might've been able to publish it to steam themselves without needing review since they already have another game on steam.
Oh ho ho ho, that could be said about many other game on Steam.
this game is literally some reskin of an old MMO, with the TOS agreements ripped from League of Legends (unchanged so the links and stuff regarding the devs are still there) and the whole project is like that Chinese Super Mario Galaxy clone
All is well that ends well.
Good of them to fix the problem so quickly. Knowing valve we can expect them to take this as a learning experience, and to take steps to prevent it happening again.

Yeah, wow. We shouldn't thank valve for taking down a failure of a game developed by a bag of dicks, and giving out refunds. Something not a lot of organizations would do.
