Honestly that entire post just seemed out of touch of reality to me. I have never personally experienced anyone ever being shamed for being skinny, I've seen plenty of problems for fat people though, including bullying, slandering, abusing, and even job discrimination.
Don't blame me for your utter lack of life experience

Jeeze, you kind of suck to talk to dude. Adding you to my ignore list.
"Meat is for men, bones are for dogs"
Does this phrase ring a bell by any chance? I've been hearing this type of bullshit my entire life, directed at my own mother, female friends, other skinny family members
It has somehow already become okay in society to talk endless shit about skinny people, all while calling someone fat makes you a massive asshole. What the fuck?
It's already happening, this entire 'fat acceptance' movement is just the next stage
Except it seems that you're advocating the reverse. Surely it would be better to either say 'both fat and skinny people should be shamed' or 'neither fat nor skinny people should be shamed'? Shouting at individuals will do nothing but make those individuals upset. Why not advocate more healthy eating campaigns, suggest tax increases on unhealthy foods, demand that the price of healthy eating be made lower and that there are more campaigns for healthy eating and exercise? Rather than say 'many people are fat and that is bad', why not ask why? The fat acceptance movement has only been a big thing in the last couple of years, so that clearly isn't the main problem.

All of that would be great if we lived in an ideal world
Unfortunately the only realistic option right now is to try to repel this 'fat acceptance' movement

I don't think Latvia and Estonia are really the targets of this campaign. This more than likely a US-centric effort to shame all the hamburger McLadies in the US rather than your fat uncle.
Don't blame me for your utter lack of life experience
Wow, that was a pretty ridiculous thing to assume about me, You know it's possible we just have different upbringings in different cultures, no need to be a total emotionally aggressive edge lord.
I know this is most likely satire, but as a serious movement this is not going to help the situation at all. Knowing my past experience with trying to persuade others to take your position, the last thing you want to do is be a dick. Once you do that, your target won't want to listen to you. The best thing to do is objectively state the facts of their condition and provide (positive) encouragement and help. Making fun of people would more than likely worsen the problem.
And remember, you don't just reach a healthy size overnight. You may discourage someone who is actually trying.

Huh, I thought I was just out of touch with reality? Where'd that go?
Anyway, here is a classic example of what I've been trying to tell you
not exactly skinny-shaming, but it gets the point across
Was expecting there to be more photoshops in this thread.

Certainly out of touch of reality in America, which is the point of the thread, that's what the point of the campaign these 4channers are on about.

I feel sorry for muscular women, they kinda get shit from everyone no matter what position on the whole healthy size/appearance debate.

How muscular are we talking? The ones in high school on the wrestling and soccer teams where I grew up were pretty well respected, are you talking specifically about women bodybuilders?

What's the reality? That fat people in America shame skinny/fit people?
What's the reality? That fat people in America shame skinny/fit people?
Huh? I'm confused with your bias here, it's pretty evident if you had lived and grown up here that it's the reverse case. Trying to preach down your foreign expectations into our reality just makes you sound like a douche.

While bodybuilders are a huge part of it, there's also moderately built women who don't exactly look that feminine. Masculine women do get a lot of vitriol for obvious reasons.

Excuse me.
I grew up fat.
I was the most bullied kid in my school. I tried suicide at 11 because I was bullied over my weight.
I don't think what you're saying is at all true.
Skinny people face some shaming, not much, but fat people face way more. It doesn't help them, but I don't think anything can make some one lose weight.
You have to decide that for yourself.
I've never actually seen anyone lambast a skinny person but defend a fat person, unless that person is themselves, severely overweight.
as for all things, we just needed a middle ground for fat-shaming and healthy normal body image pushing. this won't happen from 4chan, so why would anyone think it this is even remotely 'good'? sure it's fucking hilarious, but it's still gonna do more harm then good. no one should pretend that an operation like this is for the greater good lmao
The major point that all of this fat-support comes from is that people who are fat shouldn't be told they are inherently ugly or not beautiful. YOU may not find fat attractive, but that's not cool to belittle people for being a certain way and then to also call them ugly and fundamentally disgusting and loveless.
they're getting belitted for being unhealthy, and it is fundamentally disgusting to be majorly overweight. to deny this is enabling the unhealthy attitude and over-eating.

What was your point? What is that picture even proving, that skinny people are made fun of as well? Some woman was insulted and shamed for working on her body and being fit and active? Is that what you are trying to get at? How is this different from thousands of examples of fat people being made fun of the same way?
People are dicks on the internet and to some level in real life as well. There is a difference between don't automatically assume people are fat because they are lazy and useless and never leave McD and try to help them in a non-patronising way and "Fat is great, fuck why don't we have even more fat people around, they are draught and famine resistant and are the epitome of health" that you seem to associate with fat-acceptance.
I am not denying there are vocal idiots or very successful trolls that have convinced quite a few people that what most fat people want is to freely get bigger and get other people to join in as well, but this is simply not true. It is not true anywhere.
If anything almost every single developed country in the world is in agreement that obesity is a crisis and very important steps have to be taken or will have to be taken in the very near future to combat it. There is absolutely no one and nothing in power that is trying to make fat-acceptance the way you seem to look at it a reality.

That's not going to help either. If anything, it encourages more unhealthy habits.

I have never been so repelled by a fat person that I felt it necessary to mock them for it. Sure, I have made comments about some fat people but I've never gone out of my way to hurt their feelings. If you're belittling people, the only cause for that action is that YOU are an ass hole. You're not helping, you're just maligned and wrathful for whatever reason.
It's like they think being fat is contagious or something. They have to go out of their way to try to kill it before it spreads to them. :why:
Truth is that fat person isn't harming you, he/she is just suffering from a difficult problem, and your malignant insults and demotivational attitude towards them is only prone to making their problems worse. I don't think you'll find anybody that intentionally wants to be obese outside of some weird sexual fetish. Practically everybody understands it is unhealthy for a person and it needs to be corrected, the way towards solving that issue isn't through bullying them or insulting them however. That path is through teaching them ways to live healthier in positive ways.
People who think that solving issues like obesity is accomplished through shaming are seriously ignorant fucking assholes, they accomplish nothing and instead make the problem worse. It's the same issue with anorexia as well.
Instead of people's insults and disgusts about fat people, I'm way more interested in hearing their suggestions for those who want to lose weight but don't have the funds/are forced to shop on a tight budget, or have other issues such as lack of free/preparation time
My gf had a really hard time finding a decent (read free, none gimmick, healthy, affordable) fitness plan. So easy for guys to find free, really great advice but for girls it all seems to be monitized or "diet of the month" crap.

While it does not affect me directly, it affects me through taxes and is very contagious to their children. Often fat couples have fat kids, and that is horrible.

What's the difference between guy's and girl's plan?
though, it is the fundamental difference between americans and nonamericans really, since our healthcare system is "fuck you, you're on your own" so fat people don't really drain on anything
That's a good point.
Men and women metabolize differently. I'm no dietitian but there are some legitimate biological differences to consider when exercising, dieting to build muscle, etc.
though, it is the fundamental difference between americans and nonamericans really, since our healthcare system is "fuck you, you're on your own" so fat people don't really drain on anything
That's not quite true. Uninsured individuals and preventable diseases/disorders/injuries still put a drag on healthcare providers here in the states. A single payer system would alleviate a lot of the financial pressures, but obesity still causes major issues. A good example can be seen in molecular imaging/body scanning, particularly with say mammography. Ultrasound waves can only propagate so far in human tissue before they produce an unreliable image, so doctors have a harder time detecting early stages of breast cancer in obese patients, especially in cases where tumors are growing near the abdominal wall where tumors are not only harder to remove, but are also more likely to metastasize. My aunt ended up in a similar and fatal situation. Obesity can result in hormonal changes that affect the menstrual cycle. Her early warning signs of ovarian cancer were masked by her obesity, and her girth greatly inhibited detection of the metastasized tumors and treatment options. Early detection of cancer is not only critical to reducing costs for all parties involved (patients, hospitals, insurers etc.) but also crucial for saving lives.
A couple of other people mentioned difficulty with eating healthy food and proper portioning, but seemingly no one has linked to Budget Bytes. There are lots of great tips and ideas all over this site for eating well on the cheap and I highly recommend it.
More attractive and normal? Sure but what's with the breasts?
I can't be the only one who thinks breasts that large is unattractive (it looks disproportional as hell in this photoshopped example) and I don't think it looks very normal either.
