I used to be fat. It was terrible. Fat people should lose weight. This is a hilarious idea.

The thing with this idea is that it will play no role in changing anything, the whole point of this "campaign" is to troll easily trollable people. That's all. It won't encourage or discourage anyone to change their lifestyle.

Not disputing that, I still think it's funny.

Can't disagree with that.
I approve of this idea.
the key is healthy and cheap i feel, since one can assume a lot of obesity comes from poverty
while i love that site, it also suggests things like bbq ribs which are very easy to make incredibly unhealthy or binge on without noticing
This is a free cookbook designed exactly with this in mind. These are simple meals that are cheap and easy to make, and also delicious and nutritious.

This is another great cookbook. Slow cookers are excellent ways to cook because you can just dump things in the pot in the morning and come home to a complete dinner. Slow cookers also cook things for a very long time on low heat so ingredients that are usually cheap and chewy are best because those become very tender and very flavorful. There are several cookbooks in this line such as an easy prep edition and a healthy edition.
There are ways to eat healthy without spending too much time or money. Even a little bit of basic knowledge about nutrition will enable someone to eat relatively balanced meals using only McDonalds. I think the obesity problem is an education problem at its core, and not a fast food/poverty problem (although the concepts are certainly very related as people in poverty often don't have access to quality education, etc.)
[editline]18th August 2015[/editline]
Tangentially related, I remember hearing a thing on Fox News. They were discussing whether or not to raise the minimum wage. One of the arguments against that was "If McDonalds pays their employees 15 per hour, then they will have to raise their prices. Many impoverished families live on the McDonalds dollar menu, so if we raise the minimum wage, those people won't be able to eat."
It's almost like it's conscious systematic oppression; that the poor in this country SHOULD eat at McDonalds and SHOULD not have options in their nutrition and SHOULD be kept unhealthy. I couldn't fucking believe I heard that.

The people this is targeting are not interested in lifestyle changes anyway, so who cares?

If you can binge without noticing, you're probably not trying to make healthy food in the first place.
If you can binge without noticing, you're probably not trying to make healthy food in the first place.
If I go for say, sushi, I could probably eat 30 pieces of nigiri salmon in a sitting, I don't, I stick to 8, but those are so good, and so delicious, that that's possible for me.
So while you're probably right someone who's binging isn't going to be trying to make the best decisions, somethings are just genuinely delicious and relatively healthy, and totally bingable.

What's the difference between guy's and girl's plan?
I think it has to do with demographic marketing where diet plans are more likely to target women, so there are too many plans with misinformation or highlighted gimmicks to basically con money out of people. It's similar to protein supplements targeted at men who want to build muscle, where each product has some sort of gimmick attached to it rather than being functional in order to justify costing more than other products.

When I was teen I was heavily overweight. Then I decided to not be fat and after that I've felt so much better
[editline]19th August 2015[/editline]
Then I got fat again, but during these years i'm like "normal" now but shit, I used to be very very fat as a kid
You're not really any better than they are, you realize that don't you?
They don't want to make a positive change, they're satirizing a campaing.
why are you making it about me being better than them or not? i'm pointing out why i think it's immoral, i'm not hurting anybody's self-image, and you can say they're just satirising a campaign, you could say they're doing anything, but they're still doing the same thing at the core: photoshopping people to be thinner when that really isn't what they need to be seeing, it's going to hurt their self-image more if they're being 'corrected'
i'm not hurting anybody on the other hand. usually satire is funny, this is just cruel
This could actually be a really cool idea, show overweight people what they could look like after a few months of losing weight. Too bad everything 4chan does is done in at least slightly mean spirits.

You point that out while being immoral yourself. The difference here is that they're aware of what they're doing, while you yourself doesn't even consider what you say to be offensive.

Funny is subjective. They find it funny, therefore their satire is successful.
I've been fat and shamed
Now I'm skinny and I get shamed
people are gonna make fun of you whatever you look like so it doesn't really matter

I think this guy mighta missed the point.
I'm 23, I'm 5'9'' and I weigh 120lbs. Keep in mind, my entire life so far, I've only ever been as heavy as 126lbs. That was due to a medication I was taking. All throughout highschool I would hear "Why are you so skinny?" and "Why can't I be skinny like you?" even though they say it with envy, a lot of them would say it out of anger (even a few occasions physical anger) and sometimes I would also get hit with mean remarks.. "Do you ever eat?", "Are you anorexic? Do you need help?", "You probably do Meth, right?" (yes, these are all REAL questions I've been asked)
I have a super fast metabolism so I can eat and eat and eat and never gain a pound. I hate it, personally. I want to be normal or average, but I look like a stick with arms and legs. Because I don't have any weight, a lot of girls don't find me attractive cause I'm just "skin and bones" and that kinda sucks too.
A lot of people posting about how Fat people deal with all the bullying, etc etc.. Well, skinny people do too, rather you want to believe it or not. I just think this whole 4Chan thing is actually a pretty decent idea, even if the execution is a bit mean "Project Harpoon".. but I see it as a little motivational.
sadly that is actually what some people believe a woman should look like
I think that photo itself "brought out the beauty" of that woman and this ridiculous photoshop turned her into an abomination. 4chan should stick to watching anime.

Like I've mentioned before, with the way this project is executed, their target is not going to find this motivational and more insulting. There are much better ways at inspiring people to lose weight.
They probably do that for the reaction, in this case at least.
what? a small subset of 4chan's massive userbase has started a campaign with the intent of upsetting people? no... it can't be.
the people who photoshop the women to be thinner and then proceed to leave their tits the exact same size as they were before are hilarious

Hell, they even made the breasts slightly bigger in this one. It's pretty goddamn ridiculous.

In many cases exercising stimulates body to use the nutrition instead of dumping it. Or could you maybe be depressed? I personally couldn't gain any weight while depressed despite eating a lot. Once that went away metabolism seemed to return to more or less normal.

I'm 5'10", 185 lbs. Went from 140 to 200 in about 2 years, then lost some of the fat and stuff to look more lean.
It's possible, you just need to eat right and gym right.
Look into reading articles, I learned a lot from the internet and working out with people who were where I wanted to be. Can't get big if you don't eat big.
