I don't see what's so special about this. I don't think there's a single old queen out there that wouldn't support gay rights.
It's special because the Queen is suppose to be private when it comes to political issues. It say it in public is a "wow" moment.
She's gone mad with power.
queen confirmed for immigrant
The pensioners one is basically every daily mail stereotype rolled into one tiny comment
The entire image should be the figurehead for the Daily Mail, plastered on every copy of it with "THIS IS OUR TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC"
Wow, I have a lot more respect for the Queen now. It's often pretty hard for such notorious officials to come out in support of such things due to the amount of backlash it often causes. Hopefully this will change some peoples' minds- a lot of people respect the Queen but there's only a handful of people in England who still treat the monarchy's word as basically god, but still. UK's really been pushing on LGB equality recently, it's nice to see.
Why does this surprise anyone at all? In the UK, there's more support for it than opposition. As such, this causes less backlash than the alternative.
Lium what is with you being a brony and rating every single pro gay thread dumb? Someone had to say it.

It-its like Yahoo News, but with... British people! I honestly thought it was just us that was this ignorant
Every country has its group of people that wish the world went back into the 17th hundreds.
I want to go back to the 17 hundreds. [editline]13:37[/editline] But I want to keep all the equality. [editline]13:37[/editline] And the good healthcare. [editline]13:37[/editline] Basically, I just want the powdered wigs.
Now that was something I wasn't expecting to see. Not that I really thought the queen was any sort of homophobic, I just didn't think she cared about this at all.
If you're suggesting that right wing opinions and enjoyment of a little girl's cartoon are mutually exclusive, you've got a lot to learn.
I'm just curious as to what kind of upbringing someone could have where they end up being a homophobic brony. It just seems like an unlikely combination.

Guys (and daily mail readers), this is not the Queen's opinion, she is simply signing a Commonwealth charter "The Queen, as in all matters, is apolitical but is signing the document in her capacity as head of the Commonwealth." The Daily Mail? I'm surprised the headline wasn't something along the lines of: "Minge-loving monarch shows support for bumdas. Pakies to blame?" In all seriousness though, this is good to see.
It's just wrong how people demonize LGBT poeople for no good reasons and more in the lines of past "THE GOOD BOOK SAYS SO" "IT'S SICK AND WRONG". Since when did people deny two people true love regardless of their biological gender? These people literally object against any affection that's not heterosexual, do they even know it?
