Are you an American? Because if you are, you should already know how useless the FDA is.
yeah yawmen i'm definitely going to just take you at your word for that lol
Armpit sweat seems to be more about scent than heat regulation anyways. Ever notice how armpit sweat is the only sweat that gets an incredibly strong smell? Also, the air flow to the pits is incredibly poor for how much sweat is released.
"Apocrine sweat glands are inactive until they are stimulated by hormonal changes in puberty. Apocrine sweat glands are mainly thought to function as olfactory pheromones, chemicals important in attracting a potential mate. The stimulus for the secretion of apocrine sweat glands is adrenaline, which is a hormone carried in the blood. According to another suggestion, apocrine sweat glands (and patches of hair in armpits and around genitals) were developed in the earliest period of hominid evolution by the forces of natural selection as the means of defense from predators, as an olfactory aposematic (warning) signal, and that's why these glands are activated in the moments of emotional or physical stress" Yet another case of people butchering something on themselves in the hope of making themselves more attractive, yet are ironically doing the opposite. Sort of like dudes who drown themselves is deodorant/cologne. As long as you don't smell like cat piss, I'm pretty sure you will find most women don't mind that you smell like a dude, dudes. The same can be said for women whose perfume appliance knows no subtlety I suppose though.
The same can be said for women whose perfume appliance knows no subtlety I suppose though.
I know quite a few women who should be sanctioned by the UN for Chemical Warfare with the amount of crap they put on.
How does it cost that much if it's basically pointing an expensive barcode-scanner at your armpit and squeezing the trigger?
Why are people freaking out? Even though they would eliminate the sweat glands in your armpit, the sweat WILL find some other way to get out from. You just sweat more from other parts of your body like from your head, crotch and your asscrack. Also: Though now that I think if it I would take sweaty armpits instead of a sweaty asscrack any day of the week.
People that say this doesn't sound healthy don't understand people like me that have to get prescription antipersps. My underarms are like fucking hoses. I can lift heavy boxes for like 15 minutes until my whole shirt is completely drenched in sweat (drenched as in looks like i went swimming with my shirt on). I'm not even out of shape, when i sweat i'm not tired, it just kinda happens.
I keep forgetting microwaves are the other end of the spectrum. You're right [editline]18th August 2012[/editline] There has been lots of research into it, I think microwaves were found to accelerate it rather than cause it [editline]18th August 2012[/editline] Okay I can't find the journal, this will have to do http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/bem.2250030202/abstract
They aren't the direct cause of cancer, but who knows what tissue heating might lead to. It's extremely complex and most studies have a null-result. I find it frustrating that it's still kinda inconclusive. [editline]19th August 2012[/editline]
People use antiperspirants all the time, this is basically a more permanent solution. I don' think anyone is going to die of heat exhaustion due to insufficient sweating in their armpits.
The fact that so much sweat precipitates in your armpits means that it doesn't evaporate, and thus fails to cool your armpits (unless you stand in front of a ventilator with your arms up or something). I'd say it might even help because you lose less water.
You really want microwaves near your balls? Brave.
Reduced chance of having kids? That just sounds like an added bonus.
Reduced chance of having kids? That just sounds like an added bonus.
Unless ofcourse. Y'know. If you want to.
And then you were sterile.
In other news pregnancies have dropped by 60%.
If they invent something that you can swallow that will make it so you never get sweaty balls or a sweaty asscrack again I'd take it in a heartbeat.
Iirc Microwaves aren't ionizing so they don't pose a cancer risk. Quick google search confirmed this, but UV is the only non ionizing radiation that causes cancer (skin).
UV Ionizes, causing cancer. The ionization effect essentially dicks about with the electrons in your DNA, causing bonds to break or form and potentially causing mutations, an unsettling number of which cause cancer. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
Reduced chance of having kids?
I'm American and the fact that I haven't died due to spoiled meat or untested drugs is a p good indication that FDA is useful.
I hope you're not being serious. A quick cursory google search could show you a large number of incidents that the FDA should have prevented but didn't. Let's not even get started on the under the table politics the FDA plays with various interest groups. They are pretty useless and far from the image of an omnipotent organization they like to be seen as.
