Source and rest of article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/01/AR2010020102628.html?hpid=topnews Um... while this may come as a surprise to some, I'd like to tell the researchers who did this study, uh, no shit Sherlocks. Really? We need a study to tell us that abstinence only delays sex activities? Maybe people forgot word of mouth and how when one person is abstaining but then their buddy tells them how great a time they had fucking, don't you think that would peak a little interest?
This is the most retarded thing ever. Abstinence sex education may convince a good portion to delay sexual activity, but the other group is flying completely BLIND and having sex without any sort of proper guidance. This is a bullshit study that didn't go the way they wanted it to, so now they are spinning the results like the pricks that they are. It is extremely irresponsible and downright ignorant to think that you can effectively teach abstinence to every child. All you are doing is hurting them. Schools are places of LEARNING. Not a place to push ideals. Teach them facts as science understands them and let them make their own decisions. That is the purpose of an education. I would seriously vote to have politicians who push this executed. I'd have their fucking families executed. Right alongside people who push for creationism in schools. You don't fuck around with education. That affects human lives permanently.
Paid for talking about sex? Hell, I could do that!
Real sex isn't the same as in all those porno's you watch.
Real sex isn't the same as in all those porno's you watch.
So you don't stick the penis in the vagina? :frown:
Not having sex delays sex? I would have never guessed!
this guy earns the retard of the year award.
Who?
So you don't stick the penis in the vagina? :frown:
No it goes up the arsehole, it's much better that way, and you avoid detroying the planet by not having children.
Loving the posts which assume that Atheism and being scientifically apt are symbiotic.
Bullshit. Kids will not do what they are told. You teach them about diseases, THEN they'll not fuck (yeah right). Also, abstinence-only classes are fucking bullshit.
Don't be a fool, Cover your tool :downs::
If they want teens to avoid STDs and unintended pregnancies, then they simply need to forcefeed us material. And by forcefeed I mean give each kid a shovel-full of condoms, lube, and pamphlets, multiple times. At the moment teens have to visit a place themselves to get this stuff. My friend was worried about having unsafe sex and so I convinced him to pull into the driveway of Planned Parenthood. He ended up pussying out because he was too ashamed to go into the place and ask for condoms. So instead of having this happen to tons of teens, why not just give them what they want and need?
You can't judge someone by the way they live their life. It makes you seem like an intolerable ignorant prick. I mean, I feel for her boyfriend, but if he wants to wait, it makes it that much better when you finally get what you've been waiting for. Does it not?
You've never played/owned Spore I see.
Heard more about this story on NPR yesterday. Apparently contraceptives ARE covered in the program in question, and it's not a religiously motivated abstinence until marriage program. Yet, that won't stop this study from being promoted as proof that catholic school "You'll burn in hell if you have sex before marriage!" bullshit is a valid form of sex education.
Finland is a nice place. Here sexual education teaches kids that if you're gonna have sex: - Try to wait until you are at LEAST 16 years old, and your partner is the same age. - Use protection(we are also taught about all kinds of protection, and were told the blue pills aren't for casual use but for pure accidents). - Don't do it unless you know you're parther well enough, and you both want it. We are also taught about all different kinds of STD:s, their symptoms and causes. I think those rules are pretty useful and easy to follow, instead of telling nothing except "OOOOH SEX IS BAD DONT DO IT UNTIL MARRIAGE" So yea, I think Finland is pretty well off. :v: And despite all that information, there are barely any teen pregnancies that I've heard of. [editline]10:25PM[/editline] Oh, and sexual education starts when students are around 13-14 years old.
Because marriage is all about sex.
Uh, yes, it basically is.

Sarah Palin would be proud
It's called a follow-up survey. Usually they will ask a series of questions pertaining along the lines of "Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend? If so, how long have you been dating? Have you performed any of the following sexual activities?" People get paid big money to take part in them.
People used to come over my house every year to ask me those kinda questions, paid me 100$ each time.
The exact same is taught in most or all American schools
So you guys just aren't listening?
Abstinence.
You guys care way too god damn much about other people's sex life.
The fact that they have to make billboards like that is sad in itself.
You've never played/owned Spore I see.
I pre-ordered it infact.
Better telling them how to do it safely than making it seem like an evil thing that you "go to hell" for. Since then, eventually they'll do it anyway and might not know about condoms. Nuff said.
