It's true. And guess what? I don't go to school each day thinking we're going to be shot dead by some crazed fuckwit
I don't go into town worrying I might be shot dead point blank carrying on about my day
I don't fear that I'll wake up with a barrel to my temple with some guy in a ski mask about to shoot my entire family
I live in a nation that has been safe since 1996 and I'm proud of it
And no matter where this debate heads I will always say that I will always support gun control.
Also American politics are the biggest shit lords on the planet and I hope you guys grow out of this phase
Have you even lived in America? Unless one live in a VERY bad part of town one doesn't really ever worry about getting shot spontaneously.
But really, you seem dead-set on gun control, so nothing will change that.
What is your reasoning for supporting firearm freedom?
4 or 5 people doing something terrible with a gun doesn't mean you should take the rights away of the other 318 million.
What is your reasoning for supporting firearm freedom?
The same reasoning a lot of other people in this thread have cited.
1. Guns are cool
2. Guns are practical
3. Removing guns will unnecessarily gut a large culture of gun building, shooting and appreciation, and doing so would not achieve any end other than piss a bunch of people off and insignificantly reducing the amount of firearms availability in the long run while increasing violent crime rates in the short run.
We DO. Except the automatics, but that's not too necessary. However, here too the libarals already started having their slow way with guns. Much like in America, they're just taking the guns away from the smart people and leaving the illegal guns be. Fuck, I should start voting. 3rd year overdue :/
Barely comparable, come back to me when we can concealed carry.

yeah dude its really bad over here in the states
I got shot 15 times on the way to class today and was shot several times while getting groceries in town the other day
haha oh wait that doesn't happen because I don't live in the fucking wild west and/or a warzone and I dont worry about those things on a daily basis because Im not a paranoid crazy person
As far as I know, there are two other routes here, neither of which work particularly well.
A) Limiting everyone's rights with ineffective restrictions on the type/size of the firearm one is allowed to own.
B) Not changing anything, and continuing to have astoundingly high gun violence incidents.
Where I live, you must have a criminal record check to drive, to get a job in places of care and many other things to ensure you are able to carry out these tasks safely and responsibly.
I see it common sense that the measures should be mirrored with the ownership of firearms. They can be very dangerous but they are a constitutional right for the American people and can be used for protection and leisure and convenience.
I think the best way to protect the rights of everyone is to have background checks, and if it means having to have a mental health screening before you buy a potentially dangerous weapon so everyone else can exercise their other rights, then I'm all for it.
It probably won't be perfect, no, but it will stop stupid and ineffective laws about what kind of parts you're allowed to have on your rifle and stop people with a history of mental instability or violent criminal activity from owning a weapon.
As far as I see it, this is good for gun owning and non-gun owning American citizens.
Criminal background checks already exist. We maintain a federal database and it is instant. Nobody really has a problem with it.
Mental health is the issue. Again you have to determine WHO gets to determine someone is mentally unfit. You also have to violate hipaa (american law makes it a huge no no to release medical records to basically anyone outside of medical providers) and above all else you create yet another stigma AGAINST people getting the help needed. All that will happen is you will get nutjobs with no history of mental instability because they will never seek help!
I am not a fan of legislation that may very well make the problem it seeks to solve WORSE. It even has a good chance of creating new problems.
I'll never understand America's or this forum obsession with guns tbh and I just thank my luck that I was born in a country where this shit is not tolerated
Not trying to start a shit riot but honestly I don't get it, I don't understand the need or desire to have or own a deadly weapon that does more harm than good

Props to this guy and his group, it's a good step
as someone who doesn't own guns but has a friend who does, guns are fun. it's a hobby just like cars or bikes or computers. you can take them apart, customize them, build them yourself, and use them just like anything else. would i own one? probably not, but i won't tell my friend he can't own one.
