KekRaptor: Digital Homicide Sues Valve; Wants Steam “Safe Space”
As if that wasn’t enough, Digital Homicide is allegedly considering another lawsuit directly against Valve in an attempt to create a digital “safe space” for developers on Steam. This effectively means that on top of the $18 million that Digital Homicide is seeking in damages in their original lawsuit against the 100 Jane and John Does, Digital Homicide wants Valve to create an environment on Steam where developers are safe from things like “harassment, verbal and written assault, libel, and slander.” Mr. Bob Lawsuitsfeedmyfamily, a retired legal advisor that specializes in the study of frivolous lawsuits, stated that the two cases will likely “force Digital Homicide to change their company’s name to Digital Suicide.” Even in a best case scenario where Digital Homicide somehow wins their lawsuits against Valve, “they will likely be ridiculed and hated for as long as the Internet can remember” Lawsuitsfeedmyfamily said.
One such user, who goes by the Steam username of XxX69DankWeedSmoke420BlazeXxX, eloquently stated “If they didn’t want to see all these negative comments and reviews, maybe they should’ve made better games. Or they could just, you know, not be on the Internet, or better yet, not sue everyone on the planet.” She continued, “I mean, I’ve never even heard of them or seen their games before their lawsuits, but now that the word is getting around, all I can think of whenever someone mentions them is ‘With a name like Digital Homicide, they must be a bunch of super edgy pre-teens who just need to accept that not everyone will like them for who they are.'”
thats satire but it wouldnt surprise me if they did.
They know it's bullcrap. They just doctor it with misleading advertisement and buzzwords. They spend maybe $400 buying all premade assets for a game, then release it at ~$10 expecting a profit from morons and children buying it.
It'd be a clever scheme if they weren't being completely braindead and started attacking journalists/customers and bribing with steam keys for good reviews.
I wouldn't be surprised if they just torrented the assets and put it on the store under a cobbled together name.
They seem like prime examples of the "everyone gets a trophy/everything you do is excellent" generation in how they react to negative feedback.
I also imagine they got their start in the old Game Maker sandbox. Where everyone was calling each other's slight edit of a tutorial game the greatest thing ever.
Wow, DH is the Bold Guy of the video game industry. Listening to that soundcloud from page 2 really shows that guy must have some serious psychological issues going on.
I feel bad for his 3 kids that have to live knowing that's their father.
You actually developed a product on your own time rather than just reselling cheap Unity store content anyone could find, though. Man hours are a pretty big deal if you were to factor in a minimum wage x time.
There's also a pretty big difference in prices, played copies, average play time and quantity of games etc, comparing Digital Homicide's Steamspy pages to yours. Not to mention the Steamcardexchange and Market sites showing the quantity of Cards and badge rewards, which also has a significantly larger demand compared to yours, yet again, due to the entire DH shitfest.
I could go on and on. Point is, they made a lot of money off of doing fuck all, despite being widely known as a bunch of bell-ends.
I can confirm that Steamspy can be grossly off. You're right though, the shitshow they unleashed drew attention to their games. And as they say, any press is good press.
Hm?
Why'd you snip it? Seems relevant enough.
I was on my phone and didn't want to participate via mobile. I'm on a desktop now so I unsnipped.
Fun story, when they first started producing games and it wasn't apparent that they were just complete hacks who didn't give a shit I talked to one of them on Steam. I told them that while their first few releases weren't too good they had potential and if they just focused on one game and worked hard they could produce something great and prove everyone wrong. The fucker blocked me for saying that.

The only safe space on the Internet is the space you control. If you want a safe space, rent a VPS and put a web server on it.
