this is such a fucking gimmick
That UI looks a lot like the Bungie.net UI.
Once again...
It will be a browser based "free-to-play" and micro-transaction fueled TDM only game that will look worse than CoD1. TDM is the same, first team to 100 kills wins.
There are 100 levels, however you never unlock anything. It's $10 to prestige once you are level 100, 20 levels of prestige.
There will be five weapons. One assault rifle, one SMG, one shotgun, one sniper rifle, one pistol.
It will cost $10 to use one of the main weapons for a month. If you don't buy one of the main weapons, you only get a pistol. You cannot pick up weapons from bodies. Pay $5 per month for dual wielding pistols.
Every 100 rounds for the AR/SMG will be $1, every 50 for the shotgun will be $1, every 30 rounds for the sniper rifle will be $1, pistol ammo is free. You cannot pick up ammo from guns on the ground. Using the knife is free, although now it takes 3 swings to kill someone.
The pistol, however, takes 14 torso shots to kill someone. 7 rounds per mag, you can carry 3 mags at a time. (6 mags when dual wielding)
Frag grenades will be $1 each, no secondary grenades.
There are no "killstreaks", but now are now paystreaks. Pay $5, get a care package. Pay $10, get a predator missile. Pay $30, get a chopper gunner. Pay $75, get a nuke. One time use only.
There is one map for free. Pay $5 to unlock another map for one month.
To enable the killcam, you must pay 25 cents every time you watch it. Skipping it does not avoid the cost.
To get an M1A2 Abrams, pay $15. Can only use it for one round, unlimited respawns/ammo with it for said round.
To be in a clan, the creator must pay $50 upfront, $25 a month to keep it up. Members must pay $5 a month to be in said clan. Creator gets none of said money. Being in a clan only gives you a [CLANTAG] in front of your name.
So far the map part is right.
I'll just stick with MW3 when it's out...
[sp]here comes the boxes for liking CoD on FacePunch[/sp]

Also, fuck off Activision.
I can only imagine what CoD fan boys will say...
"YOU ONLY HATE COD ELITE BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO POOR TO AFFORD IT AHAHAHA!"
hyper-realistic combat-simulation game
Why does every article I see about MW3 say this?
I mean, literally every single one has these exact words.
Hopefully everyone will realize this is Activision's last stand for milking every god damned drop they can out of the Call of Duty franchise and not buy it.
Oh who am I kidding, it's going to sell millions and nobody will listen.
Well this is silly.
a few dollars a month for a product you enjoy several hours a day.
yeah, this is horrible.
dumbs from butthurt valve fans. you don't have to buy it if you dont want to
"Now, for only $25, you too can own a Celestial Tank flying vehicle!"

There's a filter that Activision Blizzard payed every service provider to implement.
It replaces "shit", "crap", "bad", etc. with "hyper-realistic combat-simulation" whenever it's within a certain distance from CoD or MW. It's a hyper-realistic combat-simulation move, in my opinion.
All of the content they will be offering through this will be optional and therefore nobody should get mad, per se. You can get mad at the fact that they are money grubbing assholes and not giving us the content for one solid one-time fee in the first place instead! :eng101:
To be honest, I'm going to just smirk when retards sign up for that shit.
I'll be sitting to the side playing BF3 along with my free Strike At Karkand stuff that I pre-ordered.

hmm?
Elite is extras for Black Ops and MW3, not the actual games.
I admit I laughed when he commented on the video with "THIS SUCKS!!!"
He knows the community well
Looks pretty good (in my opinion)
I know I'll get flamed for this.
You know, ignoring the fact that it's a SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE FOR AN FPS, This doesn't sound SOOOOOOOOOOO bad, really. Nothing I would buy, but new maps monthly, with an advanced integration into the game for clan support/video uploading? That doesn't sound that bad. I wouldn't be surprised if BF3 tried to pull something similar if this takes off. I actually found the video amusing, too. Especially the "Downtown" clip.
Now watch as I get buried by a mountain of dumbs without any counter-arguments.
This sounds like a bad joke taking too seriously by Activision.
Wow, a "Call of Duty: Elite" MMO that you have to pay to pay to play + map packs sounds like a really bad joke that would be used as an insult towards CoD, except Activision is taking that awful joke and making it a reality.
Next time you should read. Its optional. All it does is give some extra socialization features and detailed info on your playing style. With some maps thrown in here or there.
This is good and bad. Call of Duty might begin to die because of this.
I have to admit that the video was actually pretty good.
ENEMY AC-130 ABO- OH WAIT NEVER MIND THEIR CREDIT CARD WAS DECLINED

The game might as well be pay to play, unless they manage to not add any weapons or anything that won't be OP against those without the service.

I never said otherwise, please learn to read for yourself. I said it sounded like a joke that Activision is taking seriously. Similar to CoD: Elite, I can't take you seriously at all because of how dumb you sound.
Beat that dead horse until it's fully decomposed
